We met with Meshi who was extremely pleasant, professional, helpful and a pleasure to do business. We walked in with a pre-approval letter from my employer's Credit Union for $40,000 with an interest rate of 1.95% and $30,000 dollars down. I was advised by my credit union that they needed the dealership to send a purchase order prior to 5:00 pm and that the dealership should be able to do a courtesy contract so that we wouldn't lose the vehicle we wanted. Our decision came down between the 2021 Audi Q5 and the 2021 Corsair. Meshi faxed the documentation to my credit union around 5:00pm. Meshi confirmed that the documentation was faxed and we were ready to finalize the deal and that the car was being cleaned and detailed and she would be taking us to the finance department as soon as all the paperwork was ready. This is where everything sort of went off the rail. After a couple of hours of waiting around, Meshi walked us over to the used car sale side to finish up with the financing. There we met with Chris Marrero. We advised Chris that we were using our credit union and asked if the paperwork was sent to our credit union. Assuming that he was working with my credit union, Chris advised anything from the credit union and he got me approved by Bank of America, something that was done without my knowledge or permission, and that my interest rate was 2.79%. He advised that he knew noting about the credit union and that he was told we were getting financing through the dealership. We again advised that this was incorrect and that we were already approved through our credit union but he brushed it off. He stated that the $1,000 deal we negotiated with our sales representative was a dealer rebate for doing the financing through Lincoln. We stated this was the first time we heard of this and that we had a text message from Meshi that the car was being reduced $1,000 not a rebate but he advised it really didn't matter because it was being applied. At this point it was very late in the evening and we felt forced to sign the financial terms if we were going to leave with the car. Throughout this entire time of over 4 hours, we expected to have a vehicle that was cleaned and ready but we noticed some scratches and advised our sale's rep and she said they would take care of it but to date, we have not gotten a call asking us to bring the car in. While I am sure they are just minor scratches that can be buffed out, it speaks to the way we continue to be treated. On Friday, October 22, 2021, we called the dealership and got transferred to multiple departments and left a couple of voicemails before we were finally able to speak to Chris. I told Chris that my credit union never received any documentation from the Lincoln dealership and that we wanted to cancel with Bank of America and continue using my credit union. Chris advised that this was not possible because the deal was completed and we did not have a valid reason. My wife works for Bank of America and she advised Chris that Bank of America will allow a cancelation and would request the wire back. He stated he wasn't sure about it but to give him until Monday to find out as we were still within the 5 day grace period to cancel but that Bank of America will charge a $100 dollar cancelation fee to the dealership which would then be carried down to us. We left it at that and continued working with my credit union. On Monday, October 25, 2021, I called Chris and left a message for him to please return my call but we didn't get an answer. As a result, we called Bank of America and spoke to the car loan department and we were advised that the dealership was giving us inaccurate information as the dealership works directly with Bank of America's electronic approval process and all he had to do was put in the interest rate match within their system and give us the rate our credit union was offering and all of this could have been avoided. Bank of America also advised that they do not charge the dealership any fees for a customer cancellation and there does not have to be any particular reason to cancel if that is what I wanted to do. They even advised that this transaction was one of the quickest transactions they have seen because the money had already been wired to the dealership early Friday morning and that they would be able to finance us at a rate of 1.89%. I finally heard back from Chris on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 because he said he wasn't in the office but that he had already put the cancellation through and was now working with my credit union but that we would have to pay the $100 dollar cancelation fee, even though we knew this was not true. Since I just wanted to get this done and go with my credit union and knew we would be saving $600 in interest in the long run, I just paid it. I have purchased several vehicles in my lifetime and have never felt as deceived as with this particular dealership. My credit union was shocked and appalled and told us the same thing Bank of America said...the dealership could have just matched the rate. Thankfully, we were able to just go through my credit union but not without having to go through this nightmare let alone the hits I've incurred on my credit. I'm afraid we will not be recommending a Lincoln purchase to anyone considering what we have experienced and we are even considering posting our experience on FB and Twitter to make others aware of these deceitful practices. Other than our salesperson, our experience at this Lincoln dealership was disappointing. Thanks, Armando More
