In my search for an accord coupe, I visited several Honda dealers in NJ. I finally received a good price from Route 22 Honda on the the particular car and model I wanted and went with it to Planet Honda, sin dealers in NJ. I finally received a good price from Route 22 Honda on the the particular car and model I wanted and went with it to Planet Honda, since it had been a pleasure to deal with a particular salesman there. The salesman was very friendly and when I had inquired with him whether Planet Honda would match the current offer I had from Route 22, I was assured that it would be and so later that evening I came down to the dealership, ready to sign for the new car. Upon my arrival to Planet Honda, I was kept waiting for about 30 mins on what I believed was the contract being written up. After some time the salesman I had been dealing with walked over with one of his sales managers. The sales manager immediately told me that he would have to add another $700 to the price we had already agreed upon. As it turns out, the particular color I was looking for is nowhere to be found in NJ and Planet Honda had the last one coming in, set to arrive the next day. Realizing that I had no choice but to purchase the color I wanted there, the dealer shot the price up and assured me I woulndnt find it anywhere else. I walked out of the dealer and spent the next day searching for the color I wanted. I found the car in NY and made a trip saturday morning to make the purchase. I got the vehicle at the original price I was supposed to pay at Planet Honda, and I couldnt be happier. While the salesperson was friendly and extremely helpful, the trick the managers tried pulling on me was unproffessional and disappointing. Never again, will I step foot in this dealership. I would not recommend to anyone. More
Christopher lured me into the dealership by saying that 'Planet Honda blows all other quotes out of the water. And, I mean, not by a little, by A LOT!' So we fell into the trap. We went to the dealership and it was about 8:20pm where we were passed off by this guy Chris to another sales person. We proceeded to wait at a DISGUSTING desk of some other sales person (not even the person who was to help us) who had already gone home for the day. I say disgusting because right in front of me was an open package of crackers and crumbs everywhere on the desk. I noticed that right behind us was a row of desks where the Finance Managers sit. They were all sitting and talking to eachother, laughing and CURSING while doing so. THIS ALL IN THE SHOWROOM! How courteous. Finally, the new sales guy arrived. He took my address and I cut right to the chase. I showed him my quote in writing and bluntly said 'if you can't beat it, I am going right to the other dealership.' He took it to some guy that was one of the Managers sitting in a row of desks right behind me. He made me wait for 25 minutes (while talking to the Finance Manager who was cursing a little while earlier) and then came back and proceeded to tell me that there is NO way that I was getting the deal that was in writing. He said that they were going to make me pay a lot more-of-pocket number I was shown. He tried to create some bs and then I thanked him and left the store. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. I have always been a Ford Mercury girl. I have had several of their cars from the Escort to the Sable and have never had any problems. Until recently - I needed a new car because mine was at the end several of their cars from the Escort to the Sable and have never had any problems. Until recently - I needed a new car because mine was at the end of it's life cycle. But this time around I wanted to get the one car I always secretly wanted - a Honda! I chose Planet Honda because I knew people that worked there and it was always a pleasant dealership. First let me say - Mr. Francis Duah is the BEST! He was so professional, personable and patient with not just me but my family! He gave me his honest opinion, answered all of my questions and put me at ease. He took all the anxiety out of buying a new car. Mr. Eddie Amorin made me feel like a member of the Honda family and was willing to work within my budget of purchasing a new car. I would recommend Planet Honda to all my family and friends! I love my new 2010 Honda Civic Coupe!!! I not only got the exact car that I wanted but made wonderful friends in the process. Frank Talarico made it an absolute pleasant car buying experience. I had just come from a not so pleasant experience at Rt22 Nissan, where I have been a customer for the past 6 years. Needless to say, they didn’t want to work out a good deal and the salesman was too eager to sell, so I thought Id go over to Planet Honda and see what they can do. What a total different experience! Frank took more of a laid back type of attitude, he was extremely professional, very courteous, attentive to my requests, efficient and had a great customer service attitude. In all my years of leasing, this was by far the most professional; easiest, prompt, comfortable experience yet! From the beginning to the end of my car buying experience Frank was extremely helpful, knowledgeable. I cannot give enough praise to him. I am a sales guy and great with numbers so I am a tough sell. I was expecting the worst going in and was absolutely surprised by their professionalism. EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW, the sales person i dealt with STEVEN MARCH is the greatest sales person I have ever dealt with in any capacity. He is honest, client focused and a man of his word. I will follow him to any dealership he goes to. He is that GREAT!!! I recommend this dealer ship to all and the trio of people i dealt with, Steven, George and Raza. If you are looking for an honest salesman and good management, this is not the dealership for you. Three words--"bait and switch". I received an offer from this dealership that on the surface appe management, this is not the dealership for you. Three words--"bait and switch". I received an offer from this dealership that on the surface appeared reasonable, but after getting offers from other dealerships I realized that I could get the same deal for $500 less. I called the salesman and manager I was working with to notify them of the offer I received in writing and they assured me that they would match the deal and I should come in immediately. Naively, I did. After 2 hours of waiting, I was finally notified that there was no negotiation possible and this dealership did not want my business nor were they willing to match the other offer I received. I advised the manager that the only reason I came back to his dealership was because he told me that he would match the offer. While you may be reading this review and thinking it's the manager's prerogative to not match other offers, what makes actions of the management at this Honda dealership heinous is that I was told, "I've sold 30 cars today and I do not need your business." I was also told that he had other customers that were more important than me and to wait 2 hours was not a big deal when other customers had been there for 6-7 hours. For a dealership to tell you that they don't need your business speaks volumes to how they value their customers. As a customer, you expect a certain degree of respect and this dealership is not capable of doing so. While I was extremely offended at the length of time I spent waiting on the salesman as he shuffled between 3 customers, took a smoking break, and just vanished for long periods of time, being told by a manager that he had a right not to match another offer because I had the audacity to shop around it ridiculous. Why should I be penalized for being an educated buyer. Maybe if this dealership spent a little bit more time tending to their customers and not dancing to club music while their customers fend for themselves, but would not be a disgrace to the Honda name. My salesman was Julio and his manager was Mark Hernandez. They lack tact and are truly a disgrace to the profession. I am truly better off for not having given them my business. More
