I was very excited about purchasing a Jeep Wrangler from Plaza Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Inverness, but unfortunately the experience became extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Initially I worked Plaza Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Inverness, but unfortunately the experience became extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Initially I worked with Wyatt, who seemed very nice and eager to help. Since he was newer, another salesperson, Moe, became involved. Like many dealerships, the process started with numbers that included add-ons and extras. After discussion, we came to an agreement on removing some of those items, although there was very little willingness to negotiate further. The bigger issue came the following day when I called back with additional questions and was seriously considering moving forward with the purchase. Moe was off that day, and another employee contacted him to see if he wanted to speak with me. During that process, I overheard Moe speaking negatively about me and saying he did not want to “deal with me” on his day off. He also specifically said not to let me speak with Wyatt because he wanted to control what was being said to me. Moe later called me from his personal phone. Instead of apologizing for the situation, he denied speaking poorly about me and tried to make me feel like I should be grateful he was calling me on his day off because he was “busy doing other things.” He also accused me of trying to work around him by speaking to someone else at the dealership, which was never my intention. I simply had questions and would have happily continued working with Wyatt if Moe was unavailable. What ultimately pushed me away completely was what happened over Memorial Day weekend. The dealership lowered the advertised price of the Jeep by approximately $3,000. I called immediately and said if they honored that new price while keeping the original agreed-upon terms, I would purchase the vehicle that day. Instead, they lowered my trade-in value by essentially the same amount, completely offsetting the “sale.” When I attempted to discuss this with the GM, he barely allowed me to speak, repeatedly interrupted me, and told me that “each deal stands on its own,” meaning none of the prior discussions or numbers mattered. The conversation ended with him essentially saying, “That’s fine, don’t buy.” At the end of the day, I understand dealerships are businesses and negotiations are part of the process. However, professionalism, respect, transparency, and customer service still matter. I went from being genuinely excited and ready to buy immediately to feeling completely dismissed and disrespected.
