First of all I would like to thank the great staff of Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg for a wonderful visit. I traded in a 2008 Honda Accord LX-P for a 2010 Honda Pilot EX. In the few months I had my Pilot I grew to love it. Unfortunatley due to economic times and cut backs at my employer I was unable to keep my Pilot. I called Pohanka and spoke with Bill Hamilton Jr. and Ken Graham they made me feel at ease on the phone and told me to come in and they would take care of me. That they did. As soon as I arrived to the dealership Bill came out and greated me and my daughter with a hug and reassured me that everything would be alright. We sat down inside and talked about what kind of car I was looking at, I chose a 2010 Honda Accord because I previously had an Accord and loved it. I told Bill where my payments needed to be and all he said was ok.It was that easy. Juggling bills, jobs, and a family can be hard enough and at Bill understood that. They truly are a one of a kind dealership.I am "sold" on Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg. I have a three year old daughter who came with me and absolutley loves the new enourmous play area for children. Great car buying experience! To avoid some of the headache of previous experiences with pressure, haggling and the old bait and switch I solicited price quotes from several of the regional Honda headache of previous experiences with pressure, haggling and the old bait and switch I solicited price quotes from several of the regional Honda dealerships via online sales. Danny Hicks with Pohanka responded quickly with competitive prices. He was upfront with me they did not have one of the trim levels I'd inquired about. No pressure and honest. He did advise me to clarify fees in addition to quotes I received and with them I would be responsible for VA taxes, tags/title and their $399 processing fee. I greatly appreciated that advice as it better helped me to compare apples to apples and weed out potential bait and switch sort of approaches. Fairfax/Rosenthal's quote was higher and there was an additional transfer fee (bottom line $1000 more) and despite Hendrick's in Woodbridge numerous emails and phone calls from multiple people they were evasive to direct questions regarding fees and if they had the car/colors I was interested in in inventory. This on the heals of my 2002 Honda shopping experience where they got me to the lot with a quote but then only had vehicles with additional (unwanted) cosmetic or installed accessories that brought the price back up. Despite not having the Civic EX-L I'd initially planned I made an appointment with Danny at Pohanka due to being the closest dealership and eager to test drive the Civic EX and figured I could pursue another dealership if ultimately I decided on the leather trim level. During the test drive I'd mentioned aspects of the Subaru I'd just driven that appealed to me and I'd given a passing glance at the CR-V online. I test drove that as well. Afterward I was more undecided on the car for me than when I walked in but Danny's honest no pressure style solidified I wanted to buy from him. His goal did appear to be me getting the right car for me. By the next morning I was sure the CR-V was it and completing the process was painless as can be. A part of me is leery of overly large dealerships with fancy coffee machines etc. But I was warmly greeted each time I've arrived and someone not only said but appeared happy to find Danny for me. Not slick or overly done just warm and honest. I'm tickled with my new CR-V and already gave a friend Danny's card. It's refreshing to feel I've gotten a good deal without the headache of haggling or the pressure I've experienced in the past. More
