He showed us the car we were interested in, let us test drive it, and then sat down with us and we started the process. He was not only professional and knowledgeable, he also made the experience stress free and relaxing. The entire staff there were also just as professional and friendly and the atmosphere was great. After spending 4 hours at Bowie Honda and getting the run around from the sales team there I left and went to Pohanka at Capitol Heights. I entered through the Hyundai section. The Sale Person, Raymond Walford approached me and asked if I needed help. It was a breath of fresh air to know that sale rep at Pohanka recognized customers whether they are there to make a purchase or just looking. I was interested in a Honda Civic and wanted the Honda department. He could have just pointed me in the direction of the Honda area, but he offered to walk me there and that I considered a good customer service. I did not make it over to the Honda section because we chatted about Hyundai vs Honda and he offered me the option to test drive both the Honda civic and the Hyundai Elantra. I took a past on the test drive on the civic because I was familiar with it, but took the offer to test drive the Hyundai. After couple minutes driving the Hyundai, I was satisfied and went back to the showroom. He asked how was the test drive and if I had any questions about the car. I love the drive and feel of the car, so I asked some more comparable questions about the Honda Civic vs the Elantra. Raymond was very knowledgeable of both cars and provided me all the information I needed to make a decision. One of the things that I admired about Raymond is he never gave any negative points about Honda or pursued me in any way. He is just a respectable sales person and wants a satisfied customer. I was ready to make a purchase, but did not want to go through another ordeal like I did at Bowie Honda. Raymond assured me that at Pohanka they do not treat customers like that. They keep their customers informed throughout the buying process and he demonstrated that to me. I got the Hyundai Elantra! My experience at Pohanka was the best! He walked me through the process keep me abreast on the status while I waited for all the approvals and notified me immediately when all the approvals was done. After he handed me the key to my car, he took me to the car and showed me the features of the car and even walk me through setting up some. I rated Pohanka a great car dealership and Raymond Walford an excellent sale person. I would recommend Pohanka Hyundai and please ask for Raymond. The best sale person one can ever ask for. He even followed up the next day with a customer call to make sure everything was alright. More

After researching cars online, I decided to check out the Equus and love After many years of loving my Lexus, I decided it was time for a new car. After researching cars online, I decided to check out the Equus and loved the bells and whistles of the car, along with the look. It was July of last year when I test drove the car I wanted and I noticed some terrible thumping noise and some vibrations. The dealership said it was from flat spots in the tires and fixed it and it seemed just fine after that so I bought it. This turned out to be huge mistake. As soon as I drove it home I noticed more vibrations and the dealership claimed it was probably a balance issue this time. I brought it back in after a week and they supposedly fixed it by replacing a balancing weight. I went away on vacation for a little while, came back and the car was still not driving right. This is now October, I bring it in again and they changed the drive shaft, and two rear axles. Car still vibrating. Now it's November. They tell me to bring it in later in the month when they would have new tires and a regional manager could speak with me. SO I wait and on Nov. 25 we test drove the car with the regional manager and service manager of the Alexandria Hyundai. We ALL agree the front end vibrations are still there. The local manager says changing the tires in his opinion would do nothing. The regional manager asks me to wait ANOTHER two weeks for some engineers to take a look at it and I told him I'd had enough. I told him the car was a lemon and I wanted a new one to replace the xxx they sold me. They've declined and I've hired a lawyer. They refused to work with me on this and now we are going to court. Stay away from the Equus, and for that matter, stay away from Alexandria Pohanka in Maryland. Not worth the headache for the extreme price tag. Dreaming of having my old Lexus back!!! More
I had a pleasant experience at the Pohanka Hyundai. Danny Pena was my sales guy and he sweated bullets for me. Danny found my car in 3 days after I gave him the final OK. He was happy he sold the car and i was happy with the sale. Granted the pricing for the AZERA is way more costly and I lost a lot of features that I had in my trade in, but all in all. I'm writing this review to share my wonderful car buying experience with other potential buyers. My visit to the Pohanka Hundai dealer on (21 Dec 13) was nothing short of amazing. As we walked in buying experience with other potential buyers. My visit to the Pohanka Hundai dealer on (21 Dec 13) was nothing short of amazing. As we walked into the dealership I noticed how clean, neat, and friendly the environment was. My family and I were greeted by a salesman that took interest in not only me but also my family by becoming acquainted with our names. Next he asked what sort of vehicle was of interest to me - I didn't have a preference so he proceeded to show us the cars on the showroom floor as well as the lot outside until I came up with what I thought was a good fit for me. He was able to answer every question with poise and confidence. Since this was my first major purchase without my spouse, I was sort of nervous. As he walked me through what appeared to be a seamless process, he reassured me by way of his actions that he was in control of the car buying negotiations on my behalf which put me at ease. He never once pressured me to produce what I wasn't comfortable with and I was able to drive away with a brand new car. The process was short and sweet. He took his time and patiently walked me through the many highlighted features and controls of my new car. I will recommend this dealership, particularly Mr. Raymond Walford to my family and friends. This is the only dealership from experience that I have given a (5) star rating which still cheapens their worth because they are an outstanding dealership that deserves (6) stars for AMAZING!!! More
We were searching for a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS but were interested in a color that no dealership in the DC metro region seemed to carry. After some searching, we saw that Pohanka was the only dealer i were interested in a color that no dealership in the DC metro region seemed to carry. After some searching, we saw that Pohanka was the only dealer in the area that had a Santa Fe in the color we wanted. As VA residents, we hadnt purchased a vehicle out of state in over 14 years, but decided to give Pohanka a try. Our salesperson was Danny Pena (assisted by his floor partner Riddick), who was responsive, courteous and knowledgeable from the start. He explained features of the vehicle and gthe buying process, and after a brief negotiation and financing application, secured the vehicle at a better price than we were given by another dealership for one wit fewer features. The process was smooth and the entire Pohanka staff, from the finance team, to the sales managers and service department (to whom we were introduced during a brief tour) were all professional, courteous and knowledgeable as well. I would absolutely do business with Pohanka Hyundai again and enthusiastically recommend the dealership to anyone looking for a high level of customer service and a great deal on their vehicle of choice.
