Service Dept fail I’ll start by saying I don’t know how the dealer side of this operation is but my experience is with the service side. My cayman gt4 had issues with i I’ll start by saying I don’t know how the dealer side of this operation is but my experience is with the service side. My cayman gt4 had issues with its transmission so I took it in to Porsche of woodland hills. It turned out to be a Porsche recall so It got replaced without fuss. I get the car back and I realize I can’t put the gear into 4th and 6th. I take it back and it takes many more days to correct it. I get the car back and it starts to grind 2nd gear. Why not check the work before giving back to the owners?Remember this is a brand new transmission they’ve installed. I also started hearing a ticking noise so I mention that as well. On inspection they find the motor has issues too and need to be replaced. It takes their young tech 2 weeks to swap out this motor. Now if you know caymans or 911’s, they are the easiest to swap out engine. Designed by Porsche to be easily replaced and serviced. I’ve worked with mechanics that could swap it out in a day. So after two weeks they tell me they forgot to order a part that’s needed to install the engine. Now after another week when I go to pick up the car they tell me it’s giving out a engine code. Now needing to replace another part. At this point it’s been over a month. A month!! Eventually I get the car back (unwashed and with an empty gas tank) the car the next day doesn’t start. They blamed it on the battery. Again why wasn’t that checked in the first place. I can’t tell you online how frustrating it’s been dealing with this service dept. specially after working with so many other great service like downtown Porsche , etc... I would highly recommend another dealer for services especially if it’s major work. More
