I am happy to say I was elated when I did not run into such an individual, but instead met Ralph D'Angelo. I informed Ralph I was not ready to buy and I was just shopping around at the moment. I know a lot of sales people would immediately drop a customer such as myself, as I wouldn't provide instant sales.To my delight, Ralph did not do that. He has to be one of the nicest, most conversational people I've ever met! He asked me questions about what I was looking for for features my desired purpose (family vehicle / new / pre-owned / etc), and if I was looking for a ballpark monthly payment as he could direct me to any deals that met my preferences that was within my budget. I liked that he allowed me to steer the conversation with my preferences and budget, instead of trying to push me into what he wanted to sell. We ended up chatting a bit longer and found out we're both big fans of the same NFL team. Ralph is one of the nicest people I've ever met and when I'm ready to purchase a vehicle, I will definitely be coming to see him! More

I had already been low-balled for my trade-in by another dealer, who insisted that no one would give me even close to what it was worth. Ralph was a perfect gentleman about the process, and Portland Volvo offered me retail value for the trade-in, which I knew full well it was worth. This not only saved me the hassle of selling it myself, but it went a long way toward my confidence in the business. I also want to compliment CoDy Seguin, Curt Hodges and Jason Shaw, all personable and consummate professionals. Portland Volvo manages to be a solid business in a traditional field without the impersonal corporate sheen that has marred so many of my past car-buying experiences. It was a relief to find them.
