I rarely leave negative reviews, but after three visits to Power Ford, I feel other customers should know about my experience. My 2018 Ford Edge developed an intermittent loss of power after the engine was replaced due to coolant intrusion. I provided videos and explained exactly how to reproduce the problem. 1st visit: I was told they could not duplicate the issue. The very next day, driving under the same highway conditions I had described, I reproduced the problem myself. 2nd visit: They replaced the wastegate control solenoid, saying it was the cause. The next day, the loss of power returned under the same conditions, and the Check Engine Light came on with code P1016. 3rd visit: I called to bring the vehicle back and was told they were busy and probably wouldn't be able to look at it until the following Monday, which I understood. I left the vehicle with them Monday, and by Friday I was told they were still performing diagnostics. However, my vehicle has a tracking device, and it showed that the vehicle never left the parking lot the entire week. When I stopped by on Saturday, another service advisor confirmed there were no technician notes and that the vehicle had not been diagnosed. By this point, this was my third visit for the same issue, and I had been without a reliable vehicle for about a month. I also had an open case with Ford Motor Company requesting assistance, yet there still seemed to be little urgency. I eventually picked up my vehicle and took it to Chalmers Ford in Rio Rancho. The difference was significant. Within one day, they had diagnosed the problem, and the vehicle was repaired and returned to me that same week. Their technician documented code P1016 and found a tear in the wastegate vacuum harness at the vacuum pump quick connector, allowing outside air to leak into the system. They repaired the vacuum leak. I have now driven the vehicle under the same highway and uphill conditions that repeatedly caused the loss of power, and it performed normally. The problem appears to have finally been resolved. What makes this especially frustrating is that the loss-of-power issue began after Power Ford replaced the engine, during which the turbocharger and related components were removed and reinstalled. I cannot say definitively how the vacuum harness became damaged, but given the timing and location of the problem, I believe it should have at least been thoroughly investigated as potentially related to the engine replacement. Instead, after three visits, Power Ford never identified it, and I ultimately had to pay Chalmers Ford for the diagnostic and repair of a problem that I believe should have been addressed under the warranty for the previous engine work. After I initially posted about my experience, Power Ford contacted me and asked for an opportunity to make things right. In good faith, I removed my original review and spoke with them. I was told they would get back to me by Tuesday afternoon regarding a resolution. I gave them that opportunity, but unfortunately, I am still waiting for that follow-up. I understand that intermittent problems can be difficult to diagnose. What is difficult to accept is that Chalmers Ford diagnosed the actual problem within one day and completed the repair that same week, after three unsuccessful visits to Power Ford. Customers deserve accurate diagnoses, honest communication, reasonable follow-through, and a sense of urgency when a vehicle has repeatedly been returned for the same unresolved safety-related issue. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Power Ford. More

Offered me water, kept me up to date on progress, kept me within the two hour projected window. It was worth an extra two hour drive to have predictability and communication. No surprises. Wandered in to sales floor while waiting. Sales people also offered water and helped in my answering questions without being pushy. This is how I would run a dealership. More
From the moment I walked in, the team treated me like a priority, not a number. They explained everything clearly, gave me straight answers on pricing and timing, and finished the work when they said they priority, not a number. They explained everything clearly, gave me straight answers on pricing and timing, and finished the work when they said they would. No pressure, no surprises. As someone who has worked in healthcare quality for years, I pay attention to how organizations handle service, and this team gets it right. I’ll be coming back for all my Ford needs and recommending them to friends and family in Albuquerque. More
