I brought my hybrid highlander in for a fuel pump recall. My service coordinator created a very unpleasant experience. She initially asked if I was staying or leaving the car. I said leaving it. Then I asked if she thought it would be done by three to be told, “Well, you’re late”. WOW. That is not kind or answering the question. I took a breath and said, “Okay, do you think the car will be done by three?” She guessed five. So, if I had elected to wait for the car would they have had me wait the seven hours? If waiting is an option, clearly you’d assume the car could be done in less than 7 hours, so where is the harm in a customer asking if a repair would be complete by a certain time? There was incredibly poor communication about the service throughout. I asked for status update calls that never came. So I called them and was told with attitude “like I said this morning, it’ll be done by five”. In this call I asked to book a pickup time for the next morning because I wouldn’t make it at five. She was very put off by this for some reason. I learned in this call that they needed to remove my second row seats which include two carseats that I would need to reinstall. Not a big deal, but I would have taken them out at home to avoid having to do it at the dealer; again, poor communication. The coordinator then said she would call at 4:15 to let me know if five was still realistic. No phone call. I called at 4:50 and asked to speak to a manager. They put me on hold only to place me with the same coordinator who said she “literally just got a call it was ready one minute earlier!”…..hmm. I picked up the car the following day. I saw as I was driving home that they siphoned my gas to bring it to half a tank without telling me or replacing it! Again, poor communication and poor service. If I could have had the recall fixed outside of the dealership I would have. Avoid this dealership if possible. More
