On 17 July 2026 lawyer friend and I went to BMW to see about fixing the “cruise control start stop” feature of my new 2025 BMW S530i, purchased 4 days prior. We were served by my BMW salesman. It was di about fixing the “cruise control start stop” feature of my new 2025 BMW S530i, purchased 4 days prior. We were served by my BMW salesman. It was discovered that an essential sensor component of the cruise control feature was missing. It was listed as being present on the build order for the vehicle but was not installed. This was witnessed by myself, my friend, my salesman, an auto tech specialist, the service department crew, and my salesman’s manager. I was informed that 1. A new part could not be ordered and installed 2. That I would have change out vehicles and there may be added cost to me 3. That I had used my veteran’s discount to purchase the vehicle (one veteran’s discount allowed per year) 4. We might be able to use my wife’s veteran’s discount in order to get a new vehicles Of note this vehicle is a BMW demo vehicle and had 13,975 miles (as documented on the odometer statement) on it before I purchased it. This is certainly enough miles on the vehicle for BMW to recognize the defect. Of further note I have been a long time Lexus client and this was my first experience with BMW. Of note, my salesman, Jaime Gonzalez and the service tech, Schaefer, were very kind and understanding. The problem seems to be with management. I will keep you updated on the outcome of this experience. More
