I was a frantic nutcase who had just had my car scare me to death. The intake tech listened, but he told me nothing was wrong. I KNEW there was something wrong because I had experienced it and was now afr to death. The intake tech listened, but he told me nothing was wrong. I KNEW there was something wrong because I had experienced it and was now afraid to drive my car. The repair people could find nothing wrong either…..so I googled it for hours and found the culprit! Apparently my Equinox is so aerodynamic a tiny crack left when the window is not completely closed allows air to be forced in but does not allow it to go out, building air pressure in my car greater than outside. It causes a huge “whump, whump, whump!” sound and appears that windows are bowing out as if to shatter. It can be resolved by rolling window down or up. It’s got a name, but I can’t remember it. Nassau tested it, it doesn’t happen often, but it is a terrible experience. Ralph Sellers said there was nothing wrong with my car. They were right, that’s integrity. More
