Bad 90k service experience Took my Rough for the 90k service. Front tires needed to change; I was in agreement with it. They also told me that they had a promotion to replace Took my Rough for the 90k service. Front tires needed to change; I was in agreement with it. They also told me that they had a promotion to replace all 4 tires for the price of 3. But, since the tires in the back were still in good shape, I informed the that I just wanted the two front tires. They indicated that since the tires in the back were not wearing out evenly, it was't adviceable to drive the car like that. Something with the AWD system could go wrong. I indicated I wanted the front tires only. Since no more explanation about the AWD was given and they accepted to install only two tires, I figure the AWD concerns might be overblown. When I picked up the car, in less than a mile, whenever the aceletor was released, a noise in the back could be heard, which didn't sound healthy enough. The noise wasn't present when I dropped the car Call them back as soon as I got home but the service area was already closed. Got up early the next day to make sure they could check the noise. After inspection they told me that it was the differential that had gone bad. It was going to take a copuple of thosand dollars to fix. The shock of the news was great and askef to discuss with the service manager. He immediately informed that it was my fault, that they had informed that I should have replaced all four tires. I indicated that they allowed me to go out with two tires anyway. I also informed them that they had rotated the two rear tires from left to right. Did this cause the problem? No, According to them Since I didn't have much of an option I had to pay for the differential fix. What is amazing to me is that the Service Manager didn't try to explain what could have potentially happened. Is the AWD on Nissan cars that sensitive? Was the problem created overtime because the tires in the back were not even? And maybe t he same could had happened if I installed all four tires? Do I have to change 4 tires even when I need only two tires? Was the problem created or made worts when they rotated the back tires form left to right? He just concentrated on blaming me to the point of implying that I had been too cheap for not taking advantage of the deal of 4 tires for the price of 3 Only positive, he did give me a good discount for the fix The following day I had to comeback as a tool, that was clamping the the radiator hose going to the reservoir, was left in the engine compartment. The tool handle was resting on top of the alernator belt and wheel. The handle tool developed a deep groove on the area it was touching the alternator wheel. Luckily didn't create any damage. But, Didn't give a warm and fussy feeling I wish Nissan can provide more training to management, so they can provide effective customer support. The front desk person displayed better customer support skills. More
Ask for allen I walked in last min. Son was going to drive to DC on bald tires . I had some time to offer to bring the SR Sentra to Ramsey Nissan. They had the tire I walked in last min.
