He owns a Wrangler and obviously loves his Jeep. His enthusiasm and vast Jeep knowledge were incredibly beneficial. He gave me multiple options to consider as I decided what model I wanted to purchase. "Looking at colors" turned in to placing an order. Clayton answered every question I had through the ordering process and as I waited for my Jeep to arrive. Clayton also worked hard to get me great deal - both on my trade-in and on my new purchase. This was my first Jeep Wrangler and when picking up my Jeep, Clayton spent over an hour covering the operation, technology, and options included on my new Jeep. Overland Park Jeep had a great selection, and Chris Jones was easily the most pleasant and knowledgeable salesperson we worked with. Chris made the buying experience a breeze. The way the buyng experience should be My experience starts out with an issue I had to overcome. I live in Grain Valley, so while Landmark Dodge in Indepenence and Lee's Summit Dodge were My experience starts out with an issue I had to overcome. I live in Grain Valley, so while Landmark Dodge in Indepenence and Lee's Summit Dodge were closest to me, I also included Overland Park Jeep into the mix as well since they all had the same new Patriot we were looking at. Being a sales professional myself in the consultative world, I know that nobody likes to be sold...but everyone absolutely loves to buy from people they really like, and it starts with professional courtesy, less talking and more listening, and ultimately...excellent communication skills to answer the customers questions. The other two dealerships were contacted first, OP Jeep last. The sales people at the other dealerships, even though I'm sure they've accomplished much with their combined 30 year tenures, didn't take the time to alleviate some of my concerns and questions BEFORE trying to make an appointment. My questions were simply skirted and I had to repeat myself several times. If active listening skills is not a component of their sales training processes, it should be because I found it to be non-existent. These tenured boys maybe have forgotten and just maybe needs a brush up on one of the most basic of all skills that allows you to recognize great opportunities and deal with them effectively. Meanwhile, Terry Mykins at OP Jeep was not only the first to respond to all my inquiries, he was diligent in answering my questions all by email without the pressure to make an appointment first. I found that very impressive. I wanted to make the appointment for a Saturday morning and I put my requests with the delearshps to contact me on the Wednesday evening before. Thursday morning, Terry was on top of it first and there really was no turning back after that. Now get this, this is where the experience starts to get really interesting. He spent two days answering all my questions through mutliple emails that I'm sure the other salespeople was pre-judging and didn't give it a second thoug. Terry knew we were only working toward a Saturday morning appointment...only to find that his 40th birthday was Saturday morning and he knew all along he wasn't going to be able to meet me personally since he had the day off. Wow, is all I can say. He knew he wasn't going to be able to meet me and get full credit for any potential sale that the other guys had probably already written my same email questions off as call list fodder to turn in to their manager when they couldn't get the appointment by calling me and giving me the older tactics. I call it CONFUSE and LOSE. Not once did Terry stop the communication and tell me he wasn't going to be there Saturday until ALL my questions were answered from Thursday morning through Friday afternoon. To know you are going to split the deal with another sales person before hand and to spend that much time with me before telling me he couldn't be there when every other delearship was hounding me to come up and throwing pitches left and right, skirting my questions to spend as little time as possible... was very respectable to me and exactly how I would treat a customer. So impressed with that. It's a first for me. My experience doesn't stop there. I was passed along to Mr. Darren Richards. Who we shared the same philosophy in selling as I apply to my industry. I really liked his professional, consultative approach and he really understands the buying process. I've been in direct contract sales for nearly 15 years in a competitive, 100% commission environment that I absolutely thrive in. Even though Darren said he has only been in sales for a short while, I honestly couldn't tell the difference between him and the guys I work with who just kill it every day making the most of every opportunity and leaving the customer feel genuinely satisfied to the core where they'll keep coming back for life. More importantly, he's a good person as we of course got to share some personal information with each other and I saw qualities in him that I admired. He spent a good deal of time going over all our questions, showing us the inventory, and going over all the numbers. No pressure, just an easy does it buying experience that made it SIMPLE. His trial closes were effortless, his timing and tempo was exceptional and his presentation skills were phenomenal. He also knows his craft. Nowadays, too many sales people overcomplicate things so much that they can't even recognize a lay down when they see one. xxxx, as salespeople, we are the easiest ones to sell typcially, aren't we? LOL. We are always lay downs man! It boggles my man when you get direct and to the point with a salesperson, give them everything they need to know to close the deal up and they just turn it into something much harder than it has to be. As sales people, we really do know what we want before hand and have the money to do it. Why make the process difficult? I'll never know for the folks that do. However, the guys at OP Jeep have it together. Finally, our experience with Roger Heath was probably the shortest and most to the point financing experience we ever had that again, just made it too easy. He's personable, knows his trade and come to find out he shares a common interest in the products and services the company I work for offers. The owner and managers of these individuals should be extremely proud. They garner the qualities, skills, and abilities you really want in a team effort. I'm pretty sure that starts at the top at this dealership and just goes to show that this place is off the charts, hands down the BEST place to buy your next vehicle. We chose to drive nearly an hour out of our way when the other delearshps were as close as 15 minutes because of the experience from the FIRST CONTACT. OP Jeep should be proud of all these guys. I commend your owner, managers and training programs. We shall be back and I've already posted on my facebook page my experience and referenced these gentleman specifically as well. Thank you for the awesome experience. We have the Jeep scheduled for all the little aftermarket upgrades my wife wants and this summer couldn't have started off any better.
