He was extremely helpful, offering to go check out the car himself and give us info about the car before we drove in from out of town to see it. We came in to see the car and Steve met us with a smile and enthusiasm. He was a great pleasure to work with. Even though he did not know as much about Subarus as he does BMW (understandable since it was at a BMW dealership) he made sure that if he didn’t know the answer he was sure to look it up. He went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed; He even helped set up the Bluetooth in the car! Working with Steve definitely made carbuying a better experience and I would definitely work with Steve again in the future and recommend him to friends and family! More

Matt Perry is a wonderful manager of this group and has the respect of each employee in sight. His authority is recognized with pride and it's palpable among his men and women. I was so impressed with the salesman who sold me the car - Mr. Steven Lerner. I have owned one BMW prior to this purchase, but have to say, his explanations, teachings, and on-the-spot demonstrations made me understand the car more explicitly than ever before. The man has such patience (as evidenced by me being his patron and student). He never questioned my asking a question about the very thing he had just discussed - he just reiterated and let me catch up with him until I thoroughly understood. He truly wanted me to feel safe and be a safe driver, which I so appreciated. He was always a step before me and had his papers prepared and in order for me to sign. I could not believe what little time it took out of my day and the smoothness of the transaction. He truly is a pattern for all to follow. He even followed up with a courtesy call the next day after the sale. I feel like I can call him anytime - he is that courteous. Every company should have a "Steve" as devoted to his patrons - so hardworking, tedious, diligent and knowledgeable. He deserves every positive comment made on his behalf. It certainly makes me know I made the right decision in owning another BMW and letting others know of its quality sales and service. Thank you for listening to my comments. Cannot complain I have been coming to Richmond BMW for service for at least 8 years and all in all I cannot complain. Things have not always been perfect but Tim Pet I have been coming to Richmond BMW for service for at least 8 years and all in all I cannot complain. Things have not always been perfect but Tim Peterson (my service advisor) has always done what he can to make things right. He follows up when he says he will and frankly I feel he cares about my car as much as I do. The type of service you get after the sale, to me, is even more important that the actual sales experience because what you experience when your car is being serviced will truly make a difference on wheather you will come back to that dealer or even the brand when shopping for another car. I can say my Service experience at Richmond BMW has been a good one and can fully recommend using them, ask for Tim he will take care of you! More
Third Visit - First Purchase Three years ago, I visited Richmond BMW on the eve of a planned trip to Germany, where I had rented a 3-series BMW. I needed a primer on the car's controls, etc., to safely drive upon my arrival there. A salesperson, no longer there, took an hour of their valuable time walking me through the entire vehicle, answering all of my questions, offering a test drive and going beyond the call of duty, as I stated clearly I did not plan to make a purchase. Fast forward to Jan. of this year. I picked up a used 3 series from a friend at work and had some technical questions about the car. Although again, I was not yet a 'customer' both the service and parts personnel at Richmond BMW were more than ready to be helpful in answering my questions. Spring arrived this year and I decided my 2013 Japanese (US built) car was just not the quality or comfort I was looking for in my main vehicle. Enter Rosetta Dudley's friendly greeting on my third visit to Richmond BMW. Professional, thorough, and patient all apply to her demeanor and assistance in my purchase decision. I would say the entire process was painless, but for one small issue. After finding the 5-series I liked at another dealership, it turned out that the transferring dealership had lost the car's keys. Of course, replacement keys were ordered and I subsequently took delivery of my new car. As I was trading, for the days I had to wait, I was able to have the use of and test drive several other new and loaner BMWs. Even though the wait was not what I or they desired, I was able to be fully comfortable, through driving the variety of cars I did, that I was indeed getting THE car I wanted and would not suffer buyer's remorse. Again the folks at Richmond BMW went above and beyond in their words and actions. Highly recommend them! More
A Change Can Do You Good There are few things in life more stressful than purchasing a car. It is akin to going to war. If you don't spend countless hours researching and preparing before hand, there is a good chance you will be in over your head and lose. Even if you are prepared, the process of "haggling", the constant paranoid defense measures that must be present to avoid getting stuck or screwed, and the complete lack of trust most of us experience is draining and depressing. It is a game that some excel at (and that some even enjoy), but much like dating, a good portion of us would rather skip the games and know the details so that we can make the right decision and not waste time. In 2009, I went to war and lost the battle. My research didn't fully prepare me, I was naive to the process, and ended up wasting almost 6 years of my life with a car I realized I hated 3 months after I bought it. It seems like a very 'first world problem' type of situation, but simply enjoying the vehicle, even for one small reason, can make a huge impact. A few weeks ago, that car was stolen from my home. As much as I hated the thing, I wanted nothing more than to get it back because I wasn't prepared to go to car war again. I was still suffering from post-traumatic dealership disorder. After test driving a MINI at CarMax, we visited Crown Mini to get some info on the vehicles. I was on the defensive from the get go, closed off and acting smug to avoid getting looped in with the tricks of the trade. I was ready to implode if need be, just to ensure I didn't walk into another trap. They did not want to wake the dragon that day. It was all for naught. James Gardner and the Crown Mini staff as a whole were therapeutic in a way that relieved physical anxiety pains I was having in my back and shoulders from the stress of the situation. There were no loopholes. There were no traps. There was no smooth talking, haggling, or looks of mocking because they had customers to get to who were buying from them immediately. Even so, I was hesitant to accept what James was saying at first, but as the experience went on, I learned the little secret behind the 180 in the entire experience. They don't get paid by commission. They get paid by how much of a xxxx they give and how accurately they give the customer what they want/need. This requires a level of transparency unheard of (by me) in the realm of car purchasing. They want the numbers because they want to get you the best vehicle POSSIBLE, not to get the most money out of you. They want to make you happy as a customer because they understand that the longevity and morale of the customer base is the true value. They did everything they could for my family and more. James was beyond friendly; James was a friend. I ended up with a vehicle that I didn't even know I was looking for because he was patient, caring, and wanted to put me in the best vehicle for me. As it pertains to car purchasing, the war is over. I doubt I will go outside of the realm of MINI again. Not only are the cars top notch performance wise, they look xxxx good. On top of all of that, MINI made me feel at peace with the entire process, from start to finish. I recommend every person who has ever had a negative car buying experience at least go to a MINI dealership and interact with them. Test drive something. Let yourself be open with them, even if you don't plan on buying a car. It will change everything. Take the red pill. I'm offering you the chance to learn, nothing more. But I guarantee, you will never go back. More

Excellent Experience I went in to Richmond BMW on May 1, 2014 to test drive a 2015 X3 Xdrive. I had worked with Steve Lerner before when my husband was thinking about pur I went in to Richmond BMW on May 1, 2014 to test drive a 2015 X3 Xdrive. I had worked with Steve Lerner before when my husband was thinking about purchasing a BMW. I contacted Steve to set up a test drive. He was available to the phone when I called and told me to come by the same day. I drove the car I requested and ended up ordering one custom made for me. Before ordering one, Steve used his resources to make sure there wasn't a car in his data base that met my needs. I got the impression from Steve that he was going to get me the car I wanted. After Steve placed the order for my car, he kept in touch with me, constantly updating me whenever he received information from the plant in SC. I went to pick up my car on May 22 at Richmond BMW. The car was perfect. The delivery was perfect. Steve took the time to show me how to use the features on my car and answer all of my questions. He worked tirelessly to make my car buying experience the best it could possibly be. He introduced me to other staff members that I will be working with when I bring my car in for service. Josh Alford who helped us with our financing options was very helpful and got us the best interest rate available. That night when I got home from the dealership, I had an email thanking me for my business. I would highly recommend salesman Steve Lerner. Steve goes above and beyond what is expected.
