Rosen - You're the Best!!! I just purchased my third Hyundai Tucson this past Saturday (5/10/14). I go to Rosen each time for two reasons, the absolutely fantastic (recall-free) cars and the people. Funny, low key, helpful, empathetic, sympathetic, knowledgeable, caring, dedicated, selfless, and NOT PUSHY. The list of positives goes on... They are the real deal. It's like purchasing a car from a family member (on second thought, better). And it isn't a fluke - everyone there is like that. Not a grumpy one in the bunch! If your salesman happens to have a day off, there are several people volunteering to "pop" into the conversation and help. I'd like to especially send a shout out to Ian Turner, my Salesman. I know he hasn't been there that long, but if the way he treated me is any indication, he has a great future with Hyundai. He was so courteous through the selection process, had all the information/paperwork ready when I arrived to purchase the vehicle, and had given me a list of what items to bring so we could get things done quickly. I was late because I volunteer at an animal shelter and we received a 2-day old litter of kittens at the last minute, but Ian was willing to stay there late on a Saturday to accommodate me. Then the sweet man spent well over an hour in the car with me going over each feature, doing it all after his work day was complete, ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. We made a verbal appointment to get together next week just to work on the Navigation questions, because I just felt too bad keeping him any longer. He has impeccable manners, incredible follow-up, and the fact that he kept me abreast of the situation every step of the way made it all a stress-free, enjoyable experience. Which is how a person should feel picking up their brand new car... EXCITED!!! The best of it all... NO PRESSURE!!!. EVER!!! FROM ANYONE!!! I also want to give a big THANK YOU to Jed Settles. I had tears in my eyes when I went into the Finance office... FROM LAUGHING. He's so easy-going you just know you can trust him. Keep making great cars, and I'll keep coming back!! THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! The people at the Rosen Hyundai dealership in Algonquin are the reason why car dealerships have a terrible reputation. We spent well over $50k on The people at the Rosen Hyundai dealership in Algonquin are the reason why car dealerships have a terrible reputation. We spent well over $50k on two brand new cars at once. If we had known how we would be treated, we would not have turned to even look at this building full of SCAM ARTISTS! We were promised "bumper to bumper coverage" for 10 years. It was the main selling point for us on the 2 cars we bought. The dealership promised us this plan and said the terms would be mailed to us in a few weeks. BIG RED FLAG! When the terms of the warranty finally arrived, they apparently didn't expect us to read them. There were 6 words on what the plan covered and 3 PAGES on what is excluded: EVERYTHING. The engine, the electric/hybrid system, the body, the interior, NOTHING WAS COVERED! We called the insurance company and they confirmed that almost nothing was under that warranty and were surprised someone had actually told us it was "bumper to bumper." Once confronted, we were told to wait a few more days for them to gather the paperwork from the insurance company outlining the policy, not knowing we had called already trying to cancel directly. By some coincidence, those few days we were asked to wait were also the end of the month... ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THEIR COMMISSION!! The personnel is extremely rude after you've bought the car and have driven us to multiple serious conversations about attempting to return the cars. This has been one of the most frustrating customer experiences we have ever dealt with. Buying a house was nothing compared to the CONS they attempted at this dealership. We were fooled by the good reviews and decent deal but once the sale was finalized, they attempted to pull any dollar they could out of us! We are in the midst of the cancellation process and are considering bringing lawyers into this. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! Go to a different dealership, it's only a Hyundai, or DO NOT EVEN LISTEN TO THEIR WARRANTY AND PACKAGE OFFERS! HUGE SCAM! More
Set up an appointment for a standard oil change for this last Saturday and they told me that 11:30 would be the best time. By the time they finally brought it back, I was assuming they had wrecked it while putting it through the car wash. Simply ridiculous. If you can't do an oil change, why would anyone trust you with a real service project? More

I was greeted by Dominick upon entering the showroom and Dominick introduced me to Mark Rus. Mark was friendly, informative, and quickly arranged a test drive of a Santa Fe. During the test drive he offered to extend the drive, which was not necessary. We discussed the differences in prices for 2013 and 2014 models, as well as the different equipment packages for the 2014s. I chose a 2014 GLS AWD with the Technology package. I changed my mind on color twice while in the showroom and Mark told me they would try to locate a vehicle and give me a call by Friday (2 days.) Mark called on Friday to tell me they had not located a vehicle in black and they were still working on it. I changed my color choice again (back to the original Iron Frost) and Mark called me on Saturday afternoon to say the car was at Rosen and would be ready for delivery that afternoon. During the delivery process they offered the standard protection packages (I declined them all) but were not pushy in the process. We had to wait about an hour to see the finance guy, because they were delivering several cars at the end of the day on Saturday. We were given access to the car and the opportunity to ask questions and simply get used to the new vehicle. Our finance person (I forget his name and it is not listed in the choices) was thorough and since I was financing through my bank, he offered several different options to get my finance business. He offered at least 3 different options, but he did it professionally and without pressure. When he realized I was sticking with my financing option, we moved on. The entire process for paperwork, etc was about 20 minutes or so. We were the last to leave the showroom (after closing hours), got our vehicle and left. My only quibble with the process was although I asked for carpeted floor mats as the only accessory, the vehicle came with a tow hitch, cargo net, cargo tray, cargo cover, and no floor mats all of which Rosen charged me for. I wish that had been explained up front and/or I had been given the option to decline the accessories. As it turns out the cargo cover is something I will use. Overall, an excellent experience. From walking into the showroom to delivery took 4 days, but total time spent in the dealership was about 3 hours. I would recommend Rosen Hyundai and Mark Rus for your next purchase. I will be having my Santa Fe serviced at Rosen (was a previous service customer with my Genesis Coupe) and Rosen will be my first stop for my next Hyundai as well!! More
Mark Rus made my experience at buying a new vehicle very pleasant. I would most definitely suggest using him when it comes to purchasing a new or used vehicle. I wish I could give ZERO stars, yet, I'll chalk up this 1 star I have to give the Rosen Team for at least remembering my name. Here's a LONG story made a short as possible. They offered me an approval (at least they claim they had one) on a new 2014, fully loaded, Santa Fe Sport Turbo. I had an issue with the credit, yet, had a co-signer with PERFECT credit. They wanted an EXORBITANT down payment, and they said they'd cap it at $575 monthly. They didn't... they wanted over $600 and more of a down payment, @ a $22% rate... CRAZY! All due to an investment property that I own, they claimed was in FORECLOSURE... which it ISN'T. Then, they said that they would locate the car I wanted. Guess what? THEY DIDN'T. They tried to push the one and only package in the Santa Fe Sport I wanted on me from their stock... Which wasn't ever close to the vehicle I wanted. Never made an attempt to even get the car of my choice... You know... The one they wanted to charge me 22% for??!! They told me that when I explained to them that other dealerships could locate the EXACT car I'm looking for... They said that those dealerships were LIARS... And, only wanted my money... Ah, hello POT, it's the KETTLE! And, to bring this story to an end. I found a dealership that approved my car loan at 4.8%, (YEP, 4.1%)... with way LESS of a down payment, and a monthly payment of almost a $150 LESS as well! Not only that., I bought the car from the new dealership the night THEY were expecting me at Rosen to enter their Juice Loan Program. Best part... I didn't go home with my car that night from the new dealership, as they were driving it back to their dealership that night from 500 miles away to be inspected. And, instead of my having to drive out there almost an hour away again that following day... THE DEALERSHIP DROPPED IT OFF AT MY HOUSE BEFORE 10 AM THE NEXT DAY! Stay away from Rosen! It's xx at it finest... and, that's all you'll get. Although, they may want to sell you a warranty on the xx they give you! it's a JOKE!! More
I'm a current graduate student down in Central Illinois. This past winter break my trusty Saturn died on me after 14 years of wear on tear. So it was time to look for my “first big girl purchase” and research new cars. Before I begin…you must understand the budget of a college student…let alone a student in graduate school…you're going to expect a decent salary…however, it is not what it is expected to be. I spent a whole night research small sedans that would suite my needs as a college student. My first priority was safety of course. Secondly, I wanted a car that would give me excellent gas mileage. I researched the Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Hyundai Elantra. Ford and Elantra were the two I was debating between. When I was researching the Rosen Hyundai I found an amazing deal online for the Hyundai Elantra. I immediately put my contact information in and was contacted the next morning! Toni was working with me to help me receive the online deal that I had claimed; I went in that day and met with his sales partner Mark. Immediately they were both amazing and were willing to work with me and my budgeting situation since I was in graduate school. Unfortunately, the first day I went in I was only able to talk for a little bit but I had immediate and wonderful service. Over winter break I was working long hours and while I was working Toni was staying connected to me via email, text and phone. He was amazing and was able to answer any question or concern I may have had when I was figuring out my financial situation. The Monday before Christmas I researched more Elantra’s on the Rosen lot and found my dream car. It had everything I could have ever imagined and more! I again put my contact information in and immediately was given an appointment to test drive it. Mark contacted me before my test drive and had the car ready to go for me. He showed me all of the details that were included and we took it for a test drive. As soon as I was back in the lot, I was sold. I told him my decision was made and I wanted to purchase this car. He contacted everyone that would be in the process of helping me with purchasing my car and we began the paper work. He explained everything very slowly and gave me exact details of different payment plans that would work with my current financial situation. It could not have worked out more smoothly than it did. They took the time to explain everything as well as give me several deals on purchasing my first car, becoming a first time buyer at their dealership, automatic start, and interior and exterior protection! It was incredible how well the entire dealership team worked together to give me the best price and experience for purchasing my first car. I believe Mr. Brandt (I could have the name wrong...sorry) worked with me and my mom to explain the financial phases in regards to payments and he was incredible! He talked with us about the financial situation and also gave us an incredible deal and wonderful conversations. I seriously could not have asked for a better experience, and because of them I have an amazing car that is going to last me for years. They have had several people check in with me and my experience with my car and if I needed anything. The whole dealership is amazing and I HIGHLY recommend going there if you want excellent service and an amazing vehicle. Thank you all again for helping me purchase my dream car! Bought Hyundai Elantra last Thursday at Rosen. It was our third Rosen Hyundai purchase over the last ten years. We worked with John Hutton who was friendly, informative, yet not pushy. We had almost bought a 2013 Elantra GLS when John told us the deal we could get on a 2013 Elantra Limited. Again, John told us the plusses and minuses and never pushed which we appreciated. We eventually purchased the Elantra Limited and we are sure we will be as satisfied as we have been with our other Rosen purchases. More
Purchase a 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0. My wife and I test drove both a FWD 2.0 and an AWD 2.4 from Rosen Hyundai on a Saturday. We just began to research the Santa Fe Sport, Toyota RAV 4, Honda CRV and a Ma drove both a FWD 2.0 and an AWD 2.4 from Rosen Hyundai on a Saturday. We just began to research the Santa Fe Sport, Toyota RAV 4, Honda CRV and a Mazda CX-5. During the next week I visited the various dealerships, test drove and asked each dealer to E-mail me a price for the car including, money factor, residuals and a price for a trade in of a 2012 Honda Pilot. My sales consultant at Hyundai, Dave Schultz, was the only person to e-mail me what I asked for. I had to call the 3 other sales people and ask again for the information I was looking for, not just the monthly payment they sent me. Dave’s hearing and price for the car was excellent and after 2 more e-mails, we had a final cost worked out which came within our budget. We came back on Thursday to test drive a 2.0 AWD in the exact color and configuration we wanted to purchase. We still had one more car to test drive and felt no pressure from Dave to close the deal that night. Dave is a professional. He respected my time and better yet respected my wife’s decision to drive the other three choices before making her decision. We purchased the car that Friday. In car sales reality, waiting 6 days between a test drive and a purchase is a long time. Dave was patient, followed up only one time and best yet, listened and understood our time constraints and need to do proper research. I went into the dealership on Dave’s day off and had the pleasure to work with the Sales manager Dominick Logan. I ask if he could clean up the car my wife wanted to test drive later that day and also had him do an appraisal on the Pilot. Upon our return the car was spotless, parked right in front ready for a test drive. They let us test drive the car without a sales person present which really solidified our decision to purchase the Santa Fe Sport. We were able to drive our neighbor roads and discover how compliant the Santa Fe’s ride is compared to the other 3 choices. We closed the deal on Friday at 4:00 taking a whole 10 minutes to sign the docs. Yaseen Ali of the finance department was outstanding. Dave delivered the SUV to my wife, educating her on all the new features, setting up her Bluetooth and answering any questions she had while being patient, professional and just a great guy to do business with. Rosen Hyundai, Dave Shultz, Dominick Logan and Yaseen Ali all provided a very relaxed, no pressure, enjoyable sales experience. More
