So it's summer time here in Oregon, and I got on a whim for a new convertible. I'm pretty diligent and knew "kind of" what I wanted. I'm still very "old school" and need to actually drive the car and fee for a new convertible. I'm pretty diligent and knew "kind of" what I wanted. I'm still very "old school" and need to actually drive the car and feel it all out. Went and looked at a Boxster at another dealership and it just wasn't for me at all. So I get home and find this gorgeous silver Miata, power hard top, 2011, 22k miles, for around 22k. Online this thing looked showroom but you all know how that goes. Turns out the dealership is right down the street, so I hop in my Honda Element and head down. I'm greeted by Sam, who instantly comes up and says "I dig your socks" (I was wearing leopard print socks). This is my guy... Sam takes me over to the used lot where behold, in front of my eyes, is this vision of loveliness. This must have been owned by an older couple who never drove it. We take her out on the twisties in Hillsboro, and strike a nice conversation. A bit about the car, some about life. I asked Sam when he needed to get back and he was like take your time. Right on... So we get back and I want it. Now you know, if you ever bought a car at a dealership, you are there awhile. I am a smoker. Sam was cool enough to get me a few cigs (I like cigars but beggers can't be choosers) which certainly made life ok. Sam spent a bunch of time with me, chatting about the car, but more about life. He is an engaging dude, and me, I love everybody, perpetually happy, and love seeing happy faces. So now it's time for finance. I meet Norgen. We have a chat, and again, very kind, very personable, and listened to what I wanted. I did get the warranty as well from him, as many times I don't, but the price was certainly in my range, plus, although I love to do maintenance on my vehicles, I opted for the maintenance as well. My fat behind can't crawl under a Miata. Everyone I encountered at Royal Moore was extremely solid. Very impressive dealership, with knowledgeable staff, as well as super down to earth staff. Absolute worst dealer I have ever worked with! !! Wasted 14 hours with 3 trips to dealership toset up a deal on a truck that was 4 weeks out.
