I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Toyota. My 2020 Toyota Corolla (only 40,231 miles) developed a failed VVT controller while the car was parked in my garage. This is a known issue on Toyota. My 2020 Toyota Corolla (only 40,231 miles) developed a failed VVT controller while the car was parked in my garage. This is a known issue on the Corolla, and if it had happened just a little earlier during the warranty period, Toyota would have fully covered the repair. Instead, I was quoted close to $3,000 for a repair that clearly stems from a premature part failure—not wear and tear. A critical engine component should not be failing this early, and Toyota has shown no willingness to stand behind their product. I expected better reliability and customer support. I reached out to corporate and the dealership. It took four business days for a returned call to tell me they wouldn't cover it because I already agreed by having the vehicle towed in for a diagnosis. Needless to say I and everyone I know will never buy a Toyota again especially not from Rudy Luther. Their service manager couldn't even return a phone call. More
