Worst Experience EVER! I went into Russ Darrow Kia to test drive a KIA Sportage. I had 5 cars that I was looking at and the Sportage was the last one on my list. From the mo I went into Russ Darrow Kia to test drive a KIA Sportage. I had 5 cars that I was looking at and the Sportage was the last one on my list. From the moment I sat down with the salesman, Dennis Cardinal, I had the feeling that he wasn't interested in talking to me. I was upfront with every dealer that I visited, telling them that I was looking at 5 cars and was test driving each that day to narrow my choices. I wasn't going to be making a decision to buy on that visit. As soon as Dennis heard that, he completely turned off. I told him that I had previously owned a Kia Sportage and he told me that it was a piece of junk; that they were much better now. I really liked my old Sportage so this took me by surprise. I had to pull every piece of information out of him; he never offered anything. I told him what I wanted on the vehicle, and then I had to listen to him tell me why I didn't really need it. He kept trying to talk me into a cheaper version than what I wanted. When we went for the test drive, he never explained what anything was on the interior of the car. Again, I had to ask all questions. He made numerous sexist comments about what features were important to "women" drivers, etc. which was not what I was interested in. When we got back to the dealership, I said "Let's talk pricing" and he flat out refused to discuss price with me. He said, you aren't ready to buy so it's too early to talk price. I said that my decision making was based on reviews of the vehicles, test drive and pricing. He told me when you make up your mind, you can bring your husband back in with you and we can discuss price. THAT WAS IT! I will never walk back into that dealership and I will make sure that I let everyone on social media know how badly I was treated. I did buy a vehicle - a Nissan Rogue from Gordie Boucher in Greenfield. They know how to deal with female customers. Too bad that Russ Darrow Kia missed out on a $30K sale. More
