We visited almost all the dealers in Houston looking for a new Honda pilot. We have 2 small children so really did not have any time for negotiations. All the other dealers automatically add a bunch of accessories we did not want so they said they could not come down in price... Russell and smith gave us the best price, no back and fourth crap that most people get between manager and the salesman. A great price right off the bat! I really felt like this dealership was open and honest and highly recommend them to anyone! More

In the past, I viewed buying a car as an experience on a par with going to the dentist; I hated it, but it was necessary. Now, my worldview has changed. Having Ian Nylander as my sales consultant was like h par with going to the dentist; I hated it, but it was necessary. Now, my worldview has changed. Having Ian Nylander as my sales consultant was like having an experienced guide on a first visit to a foreign country: all questions answered, all concerns addressed, all details taken care of. Price was discussed once, to great satisfaction; there was none of this "let me talk to my manager", or pressure to buy something you don't want. I came to Ian on a recommendation from a friend at work who has been buying cars from Ian for 10+ years (her children deal with Ian as well). I have to say, I see why my friend and her family place such trust in Ian. Janet Cousins, the finance manager, is like an old friend you never knew you had: you feel instantly at home in her presence, and she gets you the best deal EVER, even when you think that that will not be possible. You just wanna sit and chat with her all day, go out to lunch, and share intimate details. Finally, Santos Cabrera, the man who handles the paperwork (signing that contract on the dotted line) is a young professional who gets the task done quickly, courteously, and error-free, all the while being nice enough to consider him as a match for your single daughter (if you had one, and if he wasn't already married). So I suppose that I now consider buying a car not like a trip to the dentist, but rather, as a place to make friends who you might invite to your next dinner party (and who can also get you a great deal on a fantastic new car). I love my new Accord, and many thanks to Ian, Janet, and Santos for making it all happen quickly and without pain. We came to agreement on the new car sales price which was nicely discounted as well as the trade in value on my CR-V and it was very fair. We also were able to arrange fantastic financing through American Honda Finance Company - a rate I couldn't beat at my credit union and that rate was already 1.5 points cheaper than the prevailing national market rate. If you're in the market for a Honda in Houston, this is the place to go - you can shop around at other dealers like I did but make this one the last stop. I will definitely refer friends and co-workers here if they're buying Hondas. And me - I will definitely be looking here for our next new car purchase whenever that time comes. More

I was referred to Russell and Smith Honda by the Jerry Reynolds, The Car Pro. He has a radio show on 740 KPRC Radio on Saturday from 11am-2pm. I contacted Russell and Smith Honda by e-mail and described the vehicle I was looking for and that I wanted to lease the vehicle. I was contacted by Fred Leber, Internet Sales manager. I told Fred what I wanted and he called me back right away with the prices. I told him what I wanted to trade and he gave me an estimate on its value. I also explained to him I had a ill wife and she had special needs if I came to the dealership. He offered to bring the vehicle to my house for a test drive if my wife was too ill to make the 45 mile trip to the dealership. I ended up taking my wife with me to the dealership with me for the test drive. Fred had us a special parking area in the shade when we arrived. He let the vehicle run for several minutes so it would be cool before we went for the test drive. There was never any pressure and the dealership was more than fair on the price for my trade-in. They also gave me a good discount on the vehicle I purchased. I was treated like a valued customer and this is the first time I had ever been to this dealership. There is no doubt I will be a return customer and recommend Russell and Smith Honda to anyone. More
We started looking several months ago for a dealer (and a new car). While we were out, we told all dealers up front that we were not buying that day, but we were doing the research and would be back. Every dealership we dealt with (other than Honda) treated us with little regard once they found this out. One insisted on trying to push us to buy that day, and the other's simply pointed us to where the cars were and walked away. Only at Russell and Smith Honda did we find someone willing to answer our questions knowing that we were not going to buy that day. Sales and Leasing Consultant Santos Cabrera-Lazo said That's OK, how can I help? He spent about 45 minutes with us discussing various vehicles, buying options, rates, etc. and we told him we would return when ready to buy. We returned on 8/26/2011 ready to purchase a vehicle. Both Fred Leber and Santos were very helpful, not at all pushy, and we believe they were being very up front about their costs, and what areas in which we might have some negotiation leverage. We received a fair trade for our old vehicle, and they came out with a price which we both felt was more than fair. Fred then informed us what we could expect when talking to financing, and he was right on. Roberto was up front with us and didn't try to push a bunch of unnecessary stuff on us. He told us what was available, and even allowed us to do some mix-matching of what we wanted. We were treated like valued customers the whole time, and I would definately recommend Russell and Smith to any of my friends or family. Fred, Santos and Roberto are great guys!! More
I have been in every Houston's Honda dealer looking for Honda Pilot LX. All of them with exorbitant prices for the Pilot because there are many accessories installed in the car for dealer. It is imposible for them to get a car with regular accesories that comes from the factory. The salesman in every dealer with same phrase: "take it or live it". I went to Russel & Smith and was different. The treatment and service is excellent. Dave Ulrich tried to work with me in every aspect of the deal. He found the Honda Pilot for me as I wanted it(price, color, etc). Them Roberto Montemayor worked very kindly with me to get financing done. I highly recommend Honda Russell & Smith to buy a Honda. Please keep doing what you're doing right now, that make you different from the rest. Excellent job and thanks. More
