I had seen all the Honda "Mr. Opportunity" ads like everyone else, so I decided to take advantage. I went to Russell & Smith because it was the most conveniently located dealership, but as it turns out everyone else, so I decided to take advantage. Tan was the first to greet us, and was very friendly throughout the test driving process. Due to a family emergency, we had to leave in the middle of the process, but came back a couple of weeks later, and he remembered all of our likes and dislikes and had the car I wanted ready for me. He was even able to lower the price a little bit more. I set up a time to go by and complete the paperwork and was in and out in an acceptable amount of time. Tan followed up more than once to make sure I was happy with my purchase, and my plates came in within 2 weeks, which Tan notified me of, and let me know I could come in to have them put on with no waiting. So far, the Civic Coupe is a great car - it runs great, and I am very pleased with my decision. More

He even suggested we take our trade-in to Car Max to see what they would purchase it for and gave us the same amount they offered which was $500 over their offer. He showed me I could indeed afford the top of the line CR-V that I wanted. Our credit score was just shy of the amount needed for the 1.9 % rate but they worked it out and we got the rate. They had good stock and I even got the color I wanted. This was definitely the fastest and friendliest auto purchase I have ever made. Did price comparisons online (edmunds, kbb, nada) and by checking local dealers. Then set out to do the hard part. 8/14 - About 1 minute after I set foot at Russell Smith Honda I was approached by Bilal. Having bad car buying experiences in the past, I was a little dry with Bilal. He took the time and patience to listen to what I was asking for. Never pushy and always respectful of me and my Family, including my two year old that was hanging all over him. Russell Smith had what I was looking for, but not in the color I wanted. Bilal showed everything that was available and what they were expecting the following week. He even offered to get it from another dealer. I could work with the color. That was a want, not a need. It took about 10 minutes to agree on the sales price. A price that I felt was fair and a good value. On 8/18 I went to pick a vehicle from the just arrived ones. My older daughter helped me decide on the dark grey one. I did a test drive. On 8/19 I returned to finalize everything. I had a trade in. The trade-in was first valued at carmax. When it came time to trade it in, Russell Smith was lower. The sales manager, Dino Varcados worked with Bilal and me - he matched the carmax price. He also pointed out the tax advantages that I would've lost if I had gone back to carmax to sell my car. No to mention all the hassle. Ami Tran, in finance, listened to me very patiently and she got me an even better deal that my own credit union!!. You may think that 1/2 percent is almost nothing, but you'll be surprised. Just do the numbers. All I can say is that when you go to Russell Smith Honda, step in with an open mind. Leave prior bad experiences behind. You will be surprised by their customer service and professionalism. Never pushy. And one more piece of advise, listen to them. I know I'm glad I did listen to Dino's comment. This was my first time buying a car and I came in with much skepticism and anxiety. However, the entire staff made it a very pleasant experience. In fact, R&S was one of the only dealerships to immediately provide me with a price over the phone. When I expressed my desire for another model, Bilal was receptive to set me up for a test drive and later presented me with a price when my decision was made. Everyone was respectful and patient. They gave me time to decide and wasted none of my time when I was ready to follow through. I had my reservations with the end price, but when given time to call around onsite, they were the only ones upfront and with the best deal. Everyone else either was hesitant to provide a price over the phone or provided one with add-ons. If there's such a thing as an honest salesman out there, Bilal and Richie would come close to that title. Andy made the financial and insurance side easy to understand and absorb. He was very down to earth and gave us a great deal on the warranty just by us asking. Thanks guys! More
