I'm going to paste in the email I sent Ryan Motors after my experience ended with the dealership. I have yet to get a reply from anyone at the dealership about my concerns. Mr. Ryan, I want to share my my experience ended with the dealership. I have yet to get a reply from anyone at the dealership about my concerns. Mr. Ryan, I want to share my buying experience that I have had with Ryan Auto Mall since the 2nd weekend of November. First, I reached out looking for a price on selling my 2017 Dodge Durango, and made an appointment with Curran to appraise the Durango. I showed up and Curran and I started talking about what I was looking for. I told him right off the bat that I was looking to downsize my payments and get back in to a Ram truck. He pulled up a 2017 Ram Big Horn (which I loved by the way), but was out of my price range. Once we got the 2017 out of the way, we started looking around and he found me the 2011 Ram 1500 SLT that suited me better. We did the financing, the test drives, and the appraisal of the Durango and everything worked out. I drove the 2011 home that night. That is where the good experience with Ryan ended. I was told if I donate some toys to Toys for Tots, that I would receive a free set of WeatherTech floor mats. That is a great deal and a good idea for a toy drive. I dropped the toys off that night, and was told the floor mats would be ordered right away and I would have them by the following Wednesday at the latest. In the meantime, a check engine light came on and I called Curran to see if Ryan knew anything about the codes. He said to bring it in and they would read it right away. I stopped up and Curran ran the truck into the back and came back saying it was the oxygen sensor. I had a plan for that, and Curran agreed that running some non-oxy gas through it would/could solve the problem. Curran had the service department clear the code and we were on the right path. I asked about the floor mats and was assured they were ordered and would be in the following week. Well, the check engine light came on again and I took it to my neighborhood mechanic. He tells me that the code is for a "Misfire in Cylinder 6". I asked what about the oxygen sensor, and he said that code wasn't in the code log at all. He also informed me that the air filter had never been changed (see attached picture). On 12/17 I reached out Curran about what work was done to the Ram when they took it for a trade in, and he said he would have to get back to me on Monday once Service opened again. Curran got back to me on 12/20 informing that Service performed service on the sway bar links, wiper blades, and an oil changed. I asked if changing the air filter was part of an oil change. I was informed that checking the air filter really depends on the technician performing the oil change. The excuse I got was "it must have been missed". At the same time, I asked Curran how much the 100k mile service would be and what that would cover. On 12/20 I also asked about where my floor mats were and when I could get in for service. Curran told me that the weather techs were just ordered and that the accessory manager "had the paperwork on his desk. He must of missed it." I was told that Service was backed up and they would get me an estimate as soon as they could. On 12/27, I reached out again about the service and was told "I figured someone would have reached out already. I will check on it and see." I still haven't seen any quote or estimate for the service. Consequently, I have reached out to two other Ram dealers about the same service and I received both estimates back in less than 36 hours. Now, I know that it is a used truck and that the sale is as is with no warranty. I'm just disappointed in the customer service I have received since purchasing the vehicle from Ryan. Being told that "it must have been missed" on more than one occasion and not having any follow up unless I reach out does not make me feel like Ryan wants my continued business. Which is a shame, because the dealership/service department in Monticello is the closest one to my house in Big Lake. I was going to wait until I had all the information from Ryan and then make a decision. But since I have waited over a week for an estimate and still haven't heard anything, I'm going to assume that it's a closed issue with your dealership and will take my business elsewhere. Thank you for reading and I hope this was a complete fluke and it won't happen to another customer that is making a bigger purchase. That's my two cents. Like I said, I hope it was a fluke. More
