I want to praise Arthur and all the staff at Brown's Mazda of Alexandria for being patient and understand with me. We went to Roswnthal Mazda in Arlington to buy a Mazda 6 and when we got there we were Mazda of Alexandria for being patient and understand with me. We went to Roswnthal Mazda in Arlington to buy a Mazda 6 and when we got there we were lied to. We left and went back to Brown's Mazda Arthur warned us that this is the tactics other dealers used lies, like "out the door" pricing when this price did not include tax. Arthur was honest and didn't change his story when we got there. We love the car, and it was ready when we got there. We bought our 2009 Mazda6 Touring model, and it is so nice! Thank you! More
Do not trust their used car "126 point inspection" or the word of their salespeople. I investigated this car on-line, spoke to Mike via e-mail and phone, and was told that the Jeep had a working A/C. I fle word of their salespeople. I investigated this car on-line, spoke to Mike via e-mail and phone, and was told that the Jeep had a working A/C. I flew in to buy it and while I was inspecting the Jeep, I turned on the A/C but could not see the compressor because it was dark and at the bottom of the engine compartment. Mike told me don't worry about it because he personally tested the A/C. Stupid me trusted him. Needless to say, the A/C doesn't work. I didn't find out until a day later, and of course the dealer won't help me. Buyer Beware! More
Absolutely horrible. They were the only dealer in the area to have the car I wanted to buy, and when I went there to seal the deal, they tried to sell me a car that was different from what we had discuss area to have the car I wanted to buy, and when I went there to seal the deal, they tried to sell me a car that was different from what we had discussed (this one came without side airbags, a totally different trim). After it was apparent they lied to me, a deal was worked for similar car, but with more bells and whistles that would cost almost $1000 more. The manager wrote on his business card the car, color, trim, and out-the-door price, and SINGED IT. When I returned the following day to complete the deal, they told me that the manager was out and they had already sold the car. Absolutely the WORST dealer in the area. Buy here only if you want to get royally screwed and/or pissed off. More

bought a Mazda Protege5 from them in 2003 which had noisey brakes 3 months after I picked it up. I took it into them 4 times (I have papers to prove it) and they never fixed the problem right... they e noisey brakes 3 months after I picked it up. I took it into them 4 times (I have papers to prove it) and they never fixed the problem right... they even tried to charge me for the faulty components and after 12,000 miles tried to tell me that it was no longer covered by warranty. Had they fixed it right the first time THAT would not have been an issue. I took my car to Steve's Auto Clinic across the street from the dealership and he fixed my brakes right the first time. It cost me $600 which should never have had Brown's of Alexandria done the work right the first time. between my wife and I, we own Three Mazdas (2 Protege's and a Miata)... I've been a loyal customer of Mazda but I would NEVER buy from Brown's Mazda ever again. They're quick to sell you a car and treat you like dirt when you go back for service. Even the sales staff plays dumb when you go in for after-sales care. Dont' shop Brown's of Alexandria or Fairfax... get your Mazda from someone else. More

My car taken in for brake work and to check transmission. When we arrived to pick the car up, it had three major dents/scratches, hood warped and doors on passenger side (1999 626) would not open. They "cl When we arrived to pick the car up, it had three major dents/scratches, hood warped and doors on passenger side (1999 626) would not open. They "claim" to have no idea what happen to my car and even insinuated that it came in that way. But "agreed" to fix dents/scratches since a proper check-in of my car was not done. They refused to take responsibility for the doors not opening etc. Allen and Steve kept coming up with extra charges that we would be responsible for totaling $400. They've had my car for over a week because of their damages. Picked it up today (they were exceptionally rude) and realized that the job is still incomplete. By the way, Ken (the guy who did not properly check-in my car "mysteriously" no longer works there). More
Mazda 626 brought in for service due to a dangerous intermittent and frequent surging of the engine causing the car to speed up when attempting to stop. Dealer made an extensive diagnosis and charged intermittent and frequent surging of the engine causing the car to speed up when attempting to stop. Dealer made an extensive diagnosis and charged $545.00 for repairs. We were given assurance that this would fix the problem, prior to authorizing repairs and again ASSURED PROBLEM WAS FIXED when picking up the vehicle.
Well, it wasn't!!! Car still surged but now at a higher RPM than before. Car returned to Brown's Alexandria Mazda service shop, where they now wanted another $650.00 to repair the same problem for which they had already collected $545.00 and had given us multiple assurances was taken care of.
Since they were never given permission to do any maintenance except that required to repair the surging problem (still present) one has to conclude that the initial $545.00 was all unnecessary work.
Discussions with the Service manager and MASTER Service Representatives did not result in any resolution, compensation, or satisfactory explanation (acceptable to a reasonable person) as to why we paid $545.00 to fix a problem that still existed and are now being asked to pay an even greater price for the same problem. Needless to say, car will be taken to another repair facility. Unfortunately, the Mazda Customer Affairs office could not provide any support or assistance other than refer us back to the source of the problem - Brown's Alexandria Mazda.
Whether this type of service and treatment is the norm at Brown's Alexandria Mazda, is unknown to us but here's a fact to consider....Car is owned and was brought in by a young Woman. Sales staff is great, but service department is another story. Unfortunately, when you deal with one you inevitably end up dealing with the other.
First trip to the service department to get my 17-mo story. Unfortunately, when you deal with one you inevitably end up dealing with the other.
First trip to the service department to get my 17-month-old repaired after being hit while parked - 10 days.
Second trip to have repairs done to the first repairs - loud creaking and bouncing and off-centered steering wheel.
Driving home after the second repair trip, the creaking was gone (mostly) but realized the steering wheel was still off center. Oh well.
Two weeks later my son points out that one of the rims on the car doesn't match the other three, although they're very similar. Another trip to the Service department. Less than thrilled.
Service denies it could have happened during the accident repairs and send me to sales saying I must have bought it that way. Sales says I couldn't have bought it that way because no one else has complained. The mismatched rim is from a later version of the same model car. The Dealer service department is the only place that's had hands on the car - for scheduled maintenance and the accident repairs. While the odds that a mechanic inadvertantly put the wrong rim on the car are small, the Dealer admits, that's the only real possibility.
Sent the matter to the GM - Sorry, but we can't do anything about it.
So, I have an off-kilter steering wheel and mismatched tire rims and the cars not even 2 years old.
Lesson learned: When buying a new car, get the best deal you can (of course) but check ratings on the service department - they're the ones you'll be seeing the most of. I bought a 2002 Mazda Tribute from them back in July 2002. The whole experience was relatively easy. The deal, which was awesome, was done in minutes. I would recommend buying a new Mazda from Browns 2002. The whole experience was relatively easy. The deal, which was awesome, was done in minutes. I would recommend buying a new Mazda from Browns.

Service is a different story. I've been bringing my Tribute every 5,000 miles for the correct service. The techs are knowledgeable but the service writers aren't. I've had to argue over having my tires rotated, and a few small warranty items. The only reason I continue to bring my car to Browns is the warranty. I prefer having all of my work down at one dealer.
More
