Dear 67chirk, Our sincere apologies go out to you if we have left you feeling anything less than completely satisfied. We value EVERY client and recognize that we have improvements to make if any one of them feels as you did after your service visit. Although Acura does have a very generous warranty extension on their seat belt components, there are exceptions that may render these components non-coverable under the Seat Belt Limited Warranty, which are as follows: ‘The malfunction, misuse, alteration, abuse, accidental damage, or damage caused by collision.’ All parts replaced under this Limited Warranty become property of American Honda and are sent back to the factory for inspection and/or refurbishing as they see fit. Unfortunately if a covered component has been visibly altered, Scanlon Acura cannot administer the corresponding warranty coverage. For our clients’ convenience, we do offer complementary loaner vehicles while we service their cars. All of our loaner vehicles go out with a quarter tank of fuel and we ask that clients replace the fuel they use before returning the vehicle. Should the client have a special need or request for a different amount of fuel we are happy to accommodate these requests. According to the repair order records, your technician was able to remove the compact discs that were lodged in the player and load one of them back in to verify that the unit was functioning properly. The comments went on to say that the remaining discs were left on the passenger seat for the client to decide on inserting all of them. There was also an estimate given to replace the player if the discs continued to lodge in the carousel. We understand that replacement costs can be high on some of the technological features of any premium car model, especially if there is not a refurbished unit available. Please note that we only work original equipment replacement parts as to perform a proper repair every time. In addition to Acura’s 12 month/12,000 mile replacement parts warranty, we (Scanlon Acura) place a limited lifetime warranty on all non-maintenance related parts to ensure our clients are covered in the event of a malfunction. Should you feel the need to have any of these items re-evaluated we would be happy to do so at no charge and accommodate you in any possible way to bring resolution to your concerns.
