S.S. reached out to me immediately following my review, which is respectable. From their standpoint, modern vehicles are complicated systems, and sometimes one malfunction can cause a cascade of unexpected malfunctions. From my perspective, predicting these systems is ideally part of being experts at Subaru repair; we dropped $3k and the car still has the exact same issue as when we brought it in. They explained that the $500 trade in was due to the fact they'd have to basically sell the car for scrap, as they're not in the business of farming out parts, and they couldn't put the vehicle on their lot in its current condition, which makes some sort of sense. I'm all about conflict-resolution, but we couldn't come up with one that would satisfy both parties (I want a car that's reliable, they're running a business for profit). They were exceptionally professional considering the tone of my review - I give the PR department a 20/20. Our $10K time-bomb is still ticking, perhaps due to their $3k ministrations, perhaps due to thoughts and prayers - such is the nature of used vehicles I suppose. When it finally blows up, at least I can tow it to the side yard, roll down a window (they work great!) and use it as a Gucci-chicken house.
