From Bad to Worst From Bad to WORST – A Schlossmann’s Subaru City Service Experience I purchased a brand new Subaru Outback less than 6 months ago for my girlfriend. A From Bad to WORST – A Schlossmann’s Subaru City Service Experience I purchased a brand new Subaru Outback less than 6 months ago for my girlfriend. Already we received our first recall notice. I scheduled an early morning service appointment ASAP because this is my GF’s only vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership things got off to a bad start. The Service Associate gave me the 3rd degree for presumably taking my car somewhere else for service. First of all, that’s none of their business. Second of all, certainly don’t give a Customer the 3rd degree now that they are actually at YOUR place. And finally, when I asked why I was being accused of taking my car elsewhere it was because the Service Associate mis-read my odometer as 15,000 rather than 1,500 leading to the latter accusation. Mind you, this was indeed my 1st Service Appointment for this vehicle. I set up camp in the waiting area. 30 minutes later I was told that it would be at least another 2 – 2.5 hrs.’ wait because their computer was “running slow”. Fine, I needed the work done today, so long as the slowest computer ever could process the recall fix by 11:30 we would be OK. Well, at 11 AM the Service Associate called me back to her desk. I was expecting to simply pickup my receipt and be on my way. Instead, she told me that after my 2.5 hr. wait, that nothing had been done, and that their computers were no longer working. She asked if I wanted to wait indefinitely to see if they managed to resolve the issue. No, I reminded her that I needed to have my GF’s car back to her by Noon at the latest. OK, she said, we’ll bring your car right around for you Sir. I was then told that the Customer Service Manager was aware of the situation and wanted to speak with me before I left. Fine. I waited around for yet another 30 mins and no visit from the Customer Service Manager. As you can guess, I am absolutely fuming at this point. I return to the Service Desk and they still haven’t brought my car back around. Finally, a few minutes later they do. FYI – I did get my GF’s car back to her just in time but unfortunately, we have no idea if/what computer crashes in the middle of updates on a recalled item may do to the system. I definitely wouldn’t believe or trust anything that this dealership might have to say on this subject since they can’t even maintain their own equipment. And no, the Service Manager never did show his/her face – probably putting out even bigger fires if I want to give him/her the benefit of the doubt. If you want a dependable service department to attend to your vehicle, this is DEFINITELY NOT the place. But if you have an entire half day to completely waste, enjoy bad coffee and stale cookies, and like leaving with perhaps even more problems than when you arrived – then look no further for the worst service experience of your life. The waiting area had comfy chairs and was fully stocked with coffee, soda, and cookies. The appointment took exactly an hour, which is what I was told it would take. Even though the process took time because there was additional parameters on my side, Jason was always patient, never pushy to get me signed something that I didn't want like 90% of other Care Sales Persons. The whole staff is friendly and even more importantly transparent. I personally value this a lot, being a foreigner not used to all details of the car buying process in this country. I ended up paying exactly dollar for dollar what was quoted to me 3 months ago. Jason and Suibaru city were the only dealership to hand over to me a printed clear & detailed copy of my quotes, not writing down a couple of numbers on a scrap paper like everywhere else. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience and I will recommend it around me More

I had actually tried to put a deposit down on a different vehicle, but wasn't informed until several hours later that the only way they do that is if there is an agreed upon price for the vehicle. By the time this information was conveyed to me, the car had been reserved/purchased by another customer. This was a frustrating experience, but in the end, I ended up getting a better deal on a similar vehicle, so I left the dealership happy. The positive: Jeremy Stilb did a great job as a salesperson. He answered my questions, clarified any concerns that I had, and kept my toddler entertained during the paper processing. He didn't make me feel that he was "selling" me anything (which, I think, is why he's such a great salesperson). It was snowing quite heavily by the time the sale was done, and Jeremy helped get our car seat installed properly into our new Subaru (along with a balloon for my very happy daughter). I will definitely seek Jeremy out again when we purchase our next Subaru. We had actually gone to Sommer's in Mequon first, having read such glowing internet reviews, but left disappointed. They didn't budge on the internet price for the vehicle we were interested in and also did not come up on our trade-in's value. While Schlossman's didn't budge on their internet price either, they did offer us a better price for a similar vehicle, better financing rate, and more for our trade-in. More

Every time we've gone in, whether it's an oil change or for a new tire, everyone is highly professional and kind. My kids get upset if I don't bring them along and probably will be life time Subaru buyers because of the free, freshly baked cookies. Not to mention I've never had a problem with my Subaru and have had follow up calls to insure we are in love. Ps - your question below about selecting an employee at the dealership doesn't have the answer we would select , it's all about rapport - we bought our first Subaru from Fiz. He is highly professional and keeps respectful communication going throughout the ownership/purchase of our outback. We wouldn't have bought our second Subaru if we weren't working with Fiz - he makes the car buying process seamless and easy for us. We never felt haggled or like we were being sold. He truly is the best! Thank you Fiz!! More
First experience with Subaru dealership We were disappointed and felt like we made a mistake when we bought our Crosstrek a week ago. The extended comprehensive warrantee coverage that the We were disappointed and felt like we made a mistake when we bought our Crosstrek a week ago. The extended comprehensive warrantee coverage that the dealership offered to us was much higher than Toyota/Honda, and still has a $100 deductible after 3 years/36,000 miles. With this amount that we paid for, we would easily get the same coverage with Honda or Toyota with $0 deductible. We were also disappointed with the mpg on high way with this Crosstrek. We hope that Subaru's life time warrantee on the powertrain will make us forget their $100 comprehensive deductible. Otherwise, this will be our last Subaru. If anyone plans to buy a Subaru, must ask for the extend warrantee in detail first; otherwise, you will regret it like we did. More
Professional and helpful. I have been going to Schlossmann's for service on my previous Subaru since my old dealership closed. The service writers are helpful and professional. I have been going to Schlossmann's for service on my previous Subaru since my old dealership closed. The service writers are helpful and professional. I am glad to be greeted with familiar faces for these last several years. It says a lot about a company when the turnover on employees is low. When I needed a new vehicle, they were extremely eager to take my old vehicle on trade, even though the condition wasn't so great. My salesman, Edward Wrathall is a knowledgeable and attentive man, who had worked there for over 25 years. He wasn't pushy or high pressure, but kind and considerate. I brought my mother who recently survived Leukemia and my sister who is disabled with me since I have been blessed with the opportunity to be their primary caregiver, and all of the staff at Schlossmann's was eager to make sure they were comfortable and well looked after while we went through the sales appointment. They had a wonderful time just talking with many of the staff there. I will definitely refer anyone I know who needs a vehicle to Schlossmann's, and come here again when I am ready for my next vehicle. More
