Service ok but hindered by the frustrating owner's manual I regard this dealership as having one of the best service departments of any dealer I have purchased from. However, this time I had to return the nex I regard this dealership as having one of the best service departments of any dealer I have purchased from. However, this time I had to return the next day after my car's 2-year service. I had asked the rep to advise on a problem getting the hatch control in the cab to work. She told me it would have to be reset. It wasn't I discovered after getting home, so I had to return the next day. Another rep advised when I returned. I will say that the rep who checked my car in was a little too quick writing my service up, though not unsatisfactory. It was a matter of style. The service rep who correctly advised me the next day (at the original rep's request) was more laid back and did not mind spending a few minutes explaining things. It turns out the instruction manual is WAY too inadequate on explaining solutions to this problem and to operation of various other features as well. Subaru should have subjected that manual to a good editor--btw the condensed manual is no good either. They must have had attorneys write the manual so as to avoid responsibility for incorrect operation of any feature--by making instructions obscure and needlessly complex. I advise them next time to submit their manuals to an interested member of the public who knows little about the technicalities of cars to ensure that the manual is useful to customers. Its hundreds of pages of gibberish are nothing but frustration now. More
