He first asked us what car we were car we were getting rid of, how long we kept our cars and a few other questions. When he left I even asked Linda why he needed that information. It was so he could sell us an extended warranty. We felt he was pushy and condescending. We have purchased three warranty extensions through Educators Credit Union and have been very please with them, having used them three times over the years with no problems. He emphatically stated to “watch out” for these products sold through credit unions. After the usual “high pressure used car salesmanship” of “Let me see what I can work out for price” when we balked at purchasing an extension, he generously give us the employee price. We did purchase an extension but only because we were going to get one anyway (at basically the same price) and we thought there would some advantage of having it based through your dealership rather than ECU. But we were not pleased with his tactics and demeanor. He also went through the electronic signing way too quickly as it there was something he didn’t want us to read. More

Honest and Respectful. No unfortunate surprises From start to finish, the purchase of my new Subaru at Subaru City was a fantastic experience. After struggling with another Subaru dealership cl From start to finish, the purchase of my new Subaru at Subaru City was a fantastic experience. After struggling with another Subaru dealership closer to my home, I was ready to give up on the process and wait a few weeks to negotiate the purchase of a vehicle. The original dealership made it extremely difficult to trust their communications and did not allow us to get to the point of signing a purchase agreement. When I told a relative about the difficulties I experienced with the original dealership, he suggested Subaru City. Throughout the entire process, Subaru City was honest and respectful with our discussions and never had "miscommunications" with me regarding the vehicle details and price. Subaru City accepted the offer that the other deanship refused and gave me additional value for my trade-in AND offered a lifetime warranty. The entire "negotiation" with Subaru City took place over a couple of days. I say "negotiation" because I simply presented what I felt was a properly researched and fair offer to purchase that was refused by the other dealership. My initial visit to the salesroom came after some preliminary correspondence through the Internet purchasing program. With a starting price from that Internet information, I visited the dealership and we discussed the appraisal for my trade-in along with other feature request details for my order. Over the next couple of days, we discussed over the telephone some minor details regarding delivery date, financing, and vehicle registration. Once we reached a verbal understanding, I came to the showroom to sign the purchase agreement. There were absolutely no surprises from our conversations and e-mail correspondence. Additionally, the sales team provided money-saving suggestions to me about option packages that would offer the same (and extra) items at a better price. When it came time to sign the purchase agreement paperwork and make a deposit, I was amazed that the process was so easy and straightforward. To this day, I do not understand what was wrong with my offer at the other dealership. The other dealership had tried "bait and switch" techniques and continually had problems with "miscommunications" among the salesperson, the sales managers, and me. I thought I was communicating fairly and honestly with the other dealership, but it makes no sense to me why my offer was not accepted. More
