However, it was listed on the web site as available, my emails discussing the car were returned indicating it was on the lot and available for a test drive, and upon my arrival I was driven around (in my own car) for 20 minutes looking for this car which apparently doesn't exist. I was then asked if I'd be okay with another color. I should've stuck with what I wanted, but I gave 2 additional color choices. I was given the option of silver in a few days. In retrospect, it seemed like people were FAR more interested in selling a car than making me happy. At this point, my car was appraised for a trade-in. After an hour of sitting alone in the back corner (like the naughty kid in 3rd grade), I was presented with the worksheet for purchase... My car which lists on KBB for about $15k, as well as on Schlossman's own web site under the "Subaru Guaranteed" trade-in, and sells around the country for upwards of $19k, was given an offer of $8500. I informed the salesperson that this was wholly unacceptable and I began to leave. My salesperson as well as another member of the staff tried to get me to wait for them to talk to their GM. It's been my experience that these GM meetings won't bring numbers THAT far apart anywhere close, so I left. Within 30 minutes, I received a call indicating that the staff (which spent an hour with my car) forgot it was a turbo, and offered the trade-in of $13k. This indicates one of two things to me: either the staff of your lot is completely incompetent, OR they treated me like a fool and hoped I'd take FAR less than my car was worth. In either case, my confidence in purchasing a vehicle from Subaru City has taken a horrible blow. I'd also like this question answered honestly... If I had taken the $8500, would the "mistake" have ever been noticed? Would you have ever given me the additional $4500? On a high note, your staff was very friendly and courteous. More

I believe that I can trust this group of people and I constantly recommend them to those that I have influence over. Excellent, worry-free car-buying experience! I just wandered onto the Schlossmann Subaru City lot a few weeks ago to "check out" Subaru Outbacks. The dealership and the vehicle came highly recomm I just wandered onto the Schlossmann Subaru City lot a few weeks ago to "check out" Subaru Outbacks. The dealership and the vehicle came highly recommended to me by a friend. The moment I got out of my car, a salesman - David Opanga - came up to chat with me, and I admit that - at first - I had some trepidation, as I honestly do not like dealing with car salesmen. The entire experience of purchasing a car is something daunting to me. Well, I needn't have worried - David was very warm and friendly from the start. We discussed what kind of car I was looking for, and eventually, he took me for a ride and test drive in an Outback. Needless to say, I loved it, and as soon as we got back to the dealership, David asked me if I wanted to run some numbers. "Uh oh," I thought, "am I ready for THIS???" Right off, I couldn't afford the payments on the car I test drove - but fortunately, they had an Outback in the next model down, which was was honestly just as good and I was fine with sacrificing a few things to afford a better price. During the entire sales experience, David was very friendly and didn't pressure much (if any) at all. Jason Spilka - who worked with my friend when she purchased her Subaru - also weighed in with his thoughts from time to time and was very fun and friendly. We did go back and forth as anticipated in my trade-in price for my 2010 Honda Fit, but eventually agreed on a value. I needed to go home and talk numbers with my partner before I committed to anything. Now, as most of us know, dealers always prefer that you take the car home THAT DAY, but David was very kind when I explained to him that I needed to "sleep on" the quote he gave me. Well, needless to say - I got the car, and it was a new one (I originally intended to buy used)! I came in with my partner the next day, we both got to test drive the actual one I was going to be buying, and the purchasing process went pretty smoothly. While we were waiting for my car to be ready, David even took the time to show me nearly all the features inside and outside of my Outback (by opening up/accessing a similar vehicle), as well as walk me through the dealership and servicing area. I was very impressed with his friendliness and professionalism. Everyone at the dealership was very nice, on the whole - even to the point of someone always being there to open the door as you walked back in. It was a welcoming customer experience, and I'm not only glad I purchased my car there, but I feel happy and confident that I will be returning there for my oil changes and service visits. Like my friend before me, I recommend this dealership heartily if you are in the market for a Subaru, or any new/used car. When I drove off the lot in my Outback, I felt I was already in good hands. They're wonderful! More
