I'm sorry about your experience. After researching the issue. We found out that the car was sold with one key and was priced accordingly. The salesman never said it came with two keys. With the gas situation all of our used cars are sold with a minimum of a half of tank. Only new cars are delivered with a full tank. Sorry for the miscommunication. If you have questions. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I did go through the showroom visits and according to our records there was nobody who came in on this car an had it checked out by a private mechanic or anybody who brought the car into the service center and put it on a lift. Hello, This is Jay Schwartz and I wanted to apologize for your unsatisfactory experience at my dealership. First off I want to say that it is not normal that we have issues like this. I think a lot of it was miscommunication or misunderstanding. First off I want to point out that the $130 plus tax you were required pay is always mentioned before hand for diagnosis fee. This is standard across the industry. We pull codes for free and once we have to start taking apart the vehicle Diagnosis is incurred. We never start Diagnosis without getting prior permission from the vehicle owner. The next thing that I would like to point out is that the $6000 was not only for the transmission. Your vehicle was towed in from another transmission repair facility that could not fix the issue. That is because your car needs a new transmission which is not that unusual for a vehicle if it has 124509 not maintained well (which I do not know if your's is or is not because it has never been here before). If you do and have always maintained your vehicle properly then this is unusual. Anyway besides the transmission your car needed 2 new drive belts that were cracked, a replaced engine mount, and the back axle was shot (Coil springs, shocks, control arms some of which are safety hazards).Then we mentioned that your wipers were streaky. We do a complimentary126 point inspection on all cars and that is when we found all of these items. When you add all of those things up with the transmission replacement you come close to $6000. I believe the miscommunication came when told you that if you planned to fix all of this that you would be better off buying a newer model for a cheaper price than $6000. We were not trying to get you to buy one from us and Kenny was helping you out considering he gets paid to try and keep the vehicle in service. If you buy something our service department loses out on the work. Lastly, if there was even a thought in my mind that we had cracked your windshield I would replace it. My family has owned this business for over 97 years and you don't make it that long by breaking vehicles and not fixing it. I know that we did not break your windshield because I watched the car be dropped off and then my technician who has been here 35 years worked on you car only replacing a motor that is under the hood which controls the wipers (for free due to a recall) and it was cracked when he tried the wipers. I do not know what happened to your car while it was at the other repair facility for 2 weeks but in the 2 days that it was at my dealership we did not cause anything to crack that windshield. I am sorry that you were not happy with your experience but I am more that happy to help you with anything you may need in the future or if there is anything you need to further discuss please let me know. 732 982 3889
