Without being able to look at your specific situation, I know that this often occurs because we always try to err on the side of caution because it is important to us that any vehicle we service is going to be safe for you and your passengers. And in some cases, that leads us to recommend a more involved process than some smaller fixes that may indeed help but also may turn out to be less reliable or safe in the long run.
