Disappointing service experience. My car was towed to Shawnee Mission Kia after stopping on the highway. I was told it was likely the engine, but would need diagnostics to confirm. Di My car was towed to Shawnee Mission Kia after stopping on the highway. I was told it was likely the engine, but would need diagnostics to confirm. Diagnostics would take 2 hours @ $190.88 / hr. and would NOT be covered by the Kia Manufacturer engine warranty. I told them to do it. I then received a call back and was told they did NOT think it was the engine but the hybrid batter starter/generator, but would need more diagnostics to confirm... 4 more hour!!! AND still owed for the first 2 hours of diagnostics! I confirmed the generator was under the warranty I had, so told them okay. My next call was that the warranty company would pay for the generator parts, plus only $180 / hr labor AND would only pay for 4.6 hours. At this point I'm at 6 hours, so I'm left with the remaining balance to pay! By this time they have had my car for more than 2 weeks and would need to keep it LONGER to complete the repair. But, the saga does not end there... I get a call that the generator is fixed, BUT now I need a new engine! BUT of course the engined is covered by the Kia Corporation's engine warranty for make/model. I'm also told that after 3+ weeks, they will have a loaner car for me the next day (UGGGHHHH!!). I go to the dealership the next day to pick up the loaner car and it is filthy... inside and out. there is bird droppings all over it and it's trashed on the inside. AND, they don't have time to clean it up. I take the car immediately to the car wash across the street and have to pay $45 to get it cleaned up! Finally, after a month without my car I get it back. I would NOT recommend the service department at the Shawnee Mission Kia Dealership. More
