When my wife and I decided it was finally time to start looking into getting a new car, we first went online to look at our options and to see what would fit both our needs and budget. We liked what Kia h looking into getting a new car, we first went online to look at our options and to see what would fit both our needs and budget. We liked what Kia had to offer, and since I was ready to make the jump to a small SUV that got us decent gas mileage, the Sportage appealed to us. Since it was a Sunday and not many dealers were open, we found some cars online at Shawnee Mission Kia and decided to make the drive out there to check them out. (Not a short drive when you're coming all the way from the Liberty, Missouri area, by the way.) As soon as we got to the lot, Bo Hardy greeted us and offered to help. We told him that we were interested in the Sportage, so he showed us several that each had different features, fuel economies and price tags. When we saw one that we thought would work, he let us take it for a test drive after which we went inside the showroom to figure the monthly payments. Sad to say that even on the least expensive end, the Sportage was still out of our price range. We had to say no. Bo was understanding though and offered to help us look at cars that would be easier on our finances. Still feeling a bit disappointed though, we went back out to look at other options. Bo showed us some Optimas and Fortes, but none of them really spoke to me. I was ready to get out of a sedan and into something different than the 2002 Saturn L200 that I had been driving for the last several years. Bo politely left us to ourselves so we could discuss what our next move would be. We wandered around the lot under intense heat feeling depressed that we would probably have to leave in the same car in which we arrived. To escape the sun and talk about it some more, we climbed into a Kia Soul at the back of the lot. I had initially dismissed the Soul as being to small and boxy to be comfortable, but once I got in I was pleasantly surprised. It was spacious without being too big, it had large windows for maximum visibility and the seats were roomy enough that I didn't feel "boxed in." Fortunately for us, the price was also kinder on our bank account. Bo was also surprised that we had gravitated toward the Soul, but he offered to let us test drive it too to see if we really did like it. Like it, we did. It handled so well and was so responsive that I felt like I had already been driving it for years. And after we came back and he crunched some more numbers for us, Bo helped us get our monthly payments down to an amount that, while still a bit more that what we were wanting, was something that we could afford. As we waited for the car to get ready and while the paperwork was being put together, Bo engaged us in some friendly small talk that made me feel like he wasn't just interested in the sale, but also in our happiness and satisfaction. He also offered to get us some water to help us beat the heat outside. That helped turn our disappointment around and left us feeling happy that we made a good, but hard-fought decision. When it came time to sign on dotted line after dotted line, we went back into Mark's office to deal with all the financial and legal stuff. That went by rather quickly, but without feeling too rushed either. We then had to deal with the task of cleaning out our trade-in before we could leave in our new Soul. Bo was kind enough to get us a cardboard box to make the transferring of knick-knacks and other car doodads a lot easier. He also took the time to show me how to pair my BlackBerry to the car's unique Bluetooth phone system, which was really cool and generous of him. Finally, he thanked us for our time and patronage, and we thanked him for his patience and understanding. We were happy to drive away in our new 2011 Kia Soul, and Bo Hardy helped us have the peace of mind to do so. More

We arrived at the new car site and the salesman whose name was Antonio greeted us as soon as we got out of our car. He asked what we were in the market for and we told him we were looking for a Kia Sore name was Antonio greeted us as soon as we got out of our car. However, we were looking for a minivan type vehicle and he told us that the Kia Sedona was the style we should look at. After answering a few questions about the Sedona we told him that we were actually looking for a used car so he walked with us to the used car lot that was down the street a ways. He showed us several 2009 models that were nice vans but a little more than we were wanting to pay. When we told him the price range that we wanted to stay in he immediately took us to a 2005 model that was very clean, not an enormous amount of miles and was very attractive. AFter taking a test drive we were in favor of making a purchase. He told us what the list price was and then the price they would be willing to sell the vehicle for. We made a counter offer and within 10 minutes we were on our way to talking financing. We were given three options on down payment, length of term, and monthly payment. I have never in my life bought a car where I was given those choices. We picked the one that best suited our needs and the rest is history. Antonio made purchasing a vehicle a pleasant experience, more so than I have experienced in the past. I would definitely do business again with Shawnee-Mission Kia and when I do I will ask for Antonio. More

I checked out DealerRater.com and checked out Shawnee Mission Kia's online inventory. Bo wanted me to come to the dealship and test drive some of the Sorentos, however, I live almost 5hrs away from Overland Park and was not ready to make the trip only to not have everything in order. After some eamils and and phone calls, we finaly had everthing ready and set up an appointment with Bo. When we arrived at S.M.K. early, we were approached before we made it to the front door and asked if we could be helped. We told the gentleman that we were there to see Bo and was shown to his desk, and offered something to drink while we waited since we were early and Bo had not yet arrived. Bo went over some of the details of the SUV with us and took us out for a test drive. Following the test drive we talked about useing our minivan as a trade-in which I had told Bo would not be part of the deal in our emails. Bo ran the numbers and gave us a price that was more then what we thought we would get. In the end we got our 2011 Sorento at a great price, from a great staff at Shawnee Mission Kia. In 1998 I became disabled and have been unable to work a full-time job; my husband has been the primary source of income in our household-we struggled for several years to work toward paying down our debt and improving our credit score.Although our credit score is still not where we'd like it to be-currently on the low side-Dustin Johnson- Salesman-and Mark the finacial manager, worked very hard to put us in a vehicle despite our credit score and the high balance we owed on our trade-in. Today we signed the paperwork and drove away in a 2010 KIA Optima LX. This is the first new car we have owned in more than 12 years. Our experience at Shawnee Mission Kia was definately a "10"! After reading a few less than flattering reviews on another area (all about a salesman named Nick). I decided to go ahead and give SMK a chance. I pulled in and the very first person to ask if I needed another area (all about a salesman named Nick). I decided to go ahead and give SMK a chance. I pulled in and the very first person to ask if I needed assistance was the infamous "Nick". I told him I was there to see Bo Hardy, he "tried" to see if I was interested in anyone else helping me, because Bo was out on a test drive. I simply but firmly said No, but that he could go fetch a few keys so that we could start our buying purchase without salesperson interfernce. We were there to "look" at and "test drive" the 2010/2011 Sorento, and the Sportage. I had researched and looked into both vehicles, but was really interested in the Sorento over the Sportage. Before we could even get the keys a very irrate customer of Nick's drove in, gave him a little what for and then proceded to tell us that he was less than Honorable. Not relly caring about Nick, I continued my "looking" experience. Nick handed me the keys to a 2011 Sportage, and I took it out for a drive. Looking down at the gas guage, Nick had put us in a car to test drive with the gas light on! DO NOT DEAL WITH NICK, just the few minutes I dealt with him was enough to get my blood boiling slightly. Upon returning to the dealership, Bo had come back from what we later learned was a less than pleasureable test drive experience with another customer. (Probably a former Nick customer) We then test drove the Sorento, and was less impressed with this vehicle. We returned to the dealership and Bo put us back in the Sportage again and went on a test drive again, this time with gas! We ended up driving the only car on the showroom floor off! (Its very small Dealership) Through either a marketing ploy or through actual life experience Bo put my wife and I at ease. It was very easy to talk with this man and he MADE the whole experience 10 times better. The only bad thing I have to say about this dealership is that there is very little privacy when talking with your salesperson, desks are crammed in, sounds echo and you can hear a conversation from across the room as if you were standing next to them. If anyone from SMK is listening, FIRE Nick, put in some cubicles with NEW undamaged Desks, and give your sales people an alternating schedule, so that they are not all there seemingly doing nothing but watching the one salesperson WITH a customer working!
