I fist walked into the dealership initially to just narrow my search for a new car down. I knew that I liked the Sportage, but really wanted to get to know more about the car and see what options I had narrow my search for a new car down. T.O. was very nice, prompt and had a good answer for almost all of my questions (which isn't very easy to do). He was very professional and an all around good guy. Also, seems how we are both Mizzou Alumni, we naturally got along pretty well. I never really felt pressured to buy, which is huge for me, because I'm not one to be pushed into anything. Instead T.O. explained the cars in great detail and when I started asking/talking about the downsides ,albeit few, of the cars I was looking at, he was honest and open. I respected T.O. a lot for this. I am someone who values honesty over anything. Good or bad I just want the truth, because I will respect you more in the end. That being said, I will not buy a car or make any other big investmet such as this with someone I do not trust. When the numbers came out, after I had selected the sportage I felt was right for me, I liked them, but felt like I could get a better deal on the loan if I talked with my State Farm Insurance agent. My dad and I were about ready to leave and hopefully try to finalize the deal later on in the week, I was thrown an offer I essentially couldn't refuse, because it was definitely in the ballpark (more like the infield) of the ideal figures that my dad and I had discussed. So I didn't. After selling the car to me, because we were hungry and had been there for a while, they even offered to buy my parents, girlfriend and I a meal. In the grand scheme of things, it's a minor purchase, but the gesture was much appreciated regardless. I would definitely recommend this dealer to someone else, especially T.O. More
After a horrific experience buying my previous new car, I was leery and untrusting as I approached the task of purchasing a new car. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the outgoing and honest approach that my salesperson, Begi, brought to the table. She understood what I wanted and how much I could spend. Naturally I wish that I could have gotten some extra dollars off the top, I am still very satisfied with the entire buying process. The car handles well and I look forward to driving it. Begi responded to a question I had and this was on a Sunday.I will definitely tell all my friends and co-workers about the excellent buying experience I had at Shawnee Mission Kia, which is decidedly different than my purcase in 2006; after that purchase I went out of my way to tell everyone to stay away from that dealer. Begi is a great salesperson and a terriffic representative for Shawnee Mission. Thanks Begi and thanks to everyone at SHawnee Mission Kia. More
Prior to going to Shawnee Mission Kia, we visited another manufacturer's dealership, and felt that we were not offered what our trade was worth. That dealer chose to not work with us in order to complete the manufacturer's dealership, and felt that we were not offered what our trade was worth. That dealer chose to not work with us in order to complete the sale; therefore, we went to Shawnee Mission Kia. As soon as we arrived at Shawnee Mission Kia we were greeted very warmly by Rocco, and felt that he was willing to work with our specific vehicle wants / needs. This allowed for us to feel more open discussing possible vehicle options, and at the end of the day, we ended up purchasing a car that we loved and felt that we got "more bang for our buck." We definitely would recommend not only our type of vehicle (2011 Kia Sorento), but we also would recommend that any of our friends / family go to Shawnee Mission Kia to purchase a vehicle. More
Rocco was a very good salesmen took his time with. Made sure I knew had to work all the gadgets on my new car before I left the lot which really helped out. It was an overall good experience. We bought the car on March 29, 2011,had taken care of all the paperwork on March 31, 2011, and have not heard from them since. We found the vehicle we bought online and called the dealership for more information. We live 50 miles from the dealership, and coincidentally, Bill lives in the same town we do. So, he offered to drive dealership for more information. We live 50 miles from the dealership, and coincidentally, Bill lives in the same town we do. So, he offered to drive the car we were interested in to our home for a test drive. He did this, bringing the car over on his day off. We put gas in the car for our test drive, and he even reimbursed us for the gas. The few things that we asked about were completely answered and resolved to our total satisfaction. We could not be happier with the way we were treated and will recommend the dealership and Bill to friends. More
We found Pres (our salesman) to be a straight forward, informed agent who made us feel he had our best interests in mind. The finance manager was very pleasant and explained everything we needed to know about our financing package and other options. I have previously dealt with the service staff and find them to be friendly helpful and fast! Overall a great group and a great place to do business. More
I originally went into Kia to trade in my car and get a 2011 Sorento. The day before I was suppose to trade in my car I got in a bad wreck and totalled my car. I called Thomson the morning I was to go in and informed him that my trade in was no longer a trade in. He was very understanding and first and foremost wanted to make sure I was OK. He told me not to worry, that he would get the paperwork changed. When I got there he had already changed the paperwork for me. I didn't have to sit around forever waiting which was very nice because I was still in a lot of pain from my wreck. When I was done signing the papers in finance he had the car ready for me to go, he explained the different parts of the car, and even set up my bluetooth for me, that really made me happy because I hate having to figure stuff out even something as simple as that. He was even very patient with me when I snapped at him a little, I felt so bad he was being nice and telling me about the features and I guess I just was grumpy but he handled it so professionally. When I got home my Mom wanted to see my car (it is her dream car) so she was of course very jealous. When she buys a new Sorento she will defintely be buying it from Thomson. Thank you Thomson for making my buy so smooth and hassle free. More
