Son's First car purchase My son and I came into the dealership to speak with someone in regards to a SUV that was featured on the website. The internet saleman was unavailable My son and I came into the dealership to speak with someone in regards to a SUV that was featured on the website. The internet saleman was unavailable at the time and Mr. Harrell asked if we needed assistance. We explained that my son had been approved for a loan through the credit for $5000.00. Mr. Harrell to the extra time to explaine to us the difference in what type of loan my son needed versus the one he had been aprpoved for and the SUV he came to look at would not qualify for the purchase with the approved loan he was already approved for. From there, Mr. Harrell took my 20 year old son under his wing and showed him several cars and actually sat him down and spoke with him as if he was his son from what type of financing he needed and what each step of the approval process entailed. That made me feel very welcome and comfortable to move forward in considering the purchase with my son of a used vehicle. The car ultimately chosen by my son and myself was a 2010 Honda Civic it was a basic car with not all the bells and whistles that my son needed since this was his first car. He allowed my son to test drive it for the day while he secured financing and assured him that somehow he was going to work it out to get him financed. Mr. Harrell not only got us approved but he went even further bu allowing my son to test drive it for the weekend and worked to get it financed with a credit union with a good APR as we had originally desired when we first got there. Mr. Harrell also worked out a very good warrantly that I myself am jealous of with my own car. I TRULY enjoyed my experience at Sheey Ford of Ashland as I adventured with my son in search of and obtaining his first car. More

I just wrote a general review for Sheehy Ashland Ford, but wanted to write a separate review for Darrick Randall my salesperson. About 4 weeks ago I decided to look at the different truck models availab but wanted to write a separate review for Darrick Randall my salesperson. About 4 weeks ago I decided to look at the different truck models available from all manufacturers. It just so happened that Sheehy Ashland was my first stop and we met Darrick. I told him that I was only looking and wasn’t interested in buying a vehicle today. My past experience with car dealers was if you’re not buying we don’t have time for you. Well, Darrick spent a considerable amount of time with us, even though I wasn’t buying, and informed us of all the features the F-150 had to offer and then we went on a short test drive. After the drive he handed me his business card, we both said thanks and I went off to see what other dealers, including other Ford dealers, had to offer. Over the course of the next couple weeks I had narrowed down my choice. I could have gone to another Ford dealer, but I went back to Sheehy in part because of Darrick and his non-pressure approach which was appealing to me. I went back to Sheehy a couple of times to make sure this was the truck, or at least the style I wanted. Every time Darrick was great to work with, he answered all my questions and I even went on a couple more test drives. Unfortunately the truck I was interested in was not on the lot. That meant we either had to find it elsewhere or have it built. Darrick did a phenomenal job working to find a truck close by with the options I was looking for. The truck was delivered a couple of days later. Finally after seeing the “real” truck I was interested in we moved on to price. I don’t like haggling, I don’t like going back and forth, I don’t want to be pressured or told one thing and something else happens in the end. I don’t have the time or the patience for this type of game anymore. I informed Darrick of this; he talked to his manager (who is also really nice) and came back with a vary fare price that I was pleased with (I had been researching raw build, dealer invoice, true value and MSRP pricing and knew what I was looking for). After all the finance paperwork and signing was over with, Darrick again went over the truck details, asked if we had any questions and even Sync’d our phones to the entertainment system. I know this may all sound standard, but what I haven’t included in this write up are all the phone calls and emails Darrick answered, all the status updates he provided and the easy going non-pushy personality he has that is really nice to work with. This was truly the best car buying experience I’ve had. A large part of this is how Darrick represents himself and Sheehy Ford Ashland. I would definitely recommend working with Darrick and Sheehy Ashland when looking or buying a new vehicle. Thanks Darrick!!! More
