This review is for my most recent (trade-in) purchase of a used Toyota Avalon. My experience at the store - from inquiry, "out-the-door," and follow-up - during a short 2-day weekend could be summed up as EXCELLENT! The buying process, from initial contact (Michael Z.), 2 test drives (yes, twice with "Gus" & Juan T.), deal discussion Juan T. & Ralphael H., final paperwork (Jason K.), and after-sale (Juan T.), was handled exceptionally well to my satisfaction. To me, this is a model for great teamwork to deliver best services to customers. I initiated inquiry about the vehicle listing was responded by Michael within a couple of hours and my appointment for test drive was set up on the same Saturday afternoon. Gus is my go-to salesperson ever since bringing my business here. This time Gus helped me with the inital test drive, then he made necessary arrangement for me to continue being taken care of by Juan since he was off the following day. Gus was not only knowledgeable about the car, but also very attentive and thoughtful of my needs. He gave me very helpful info and advised me on options to consider the trade-in. Throughout my discussion with Gus, the focus was only on my real needs to trade-in my then 2020 Outback, absolutely NO pressure whatsoever to make the sale or persuade me to deviate from my planned purpose. Gus had assisted to work out a good number for my trade before I left that afternoon to further discuss with my wife. Gus even spent time exchanging texts for my follow-up questions that evening AND the next morning (when he was supposed to be off). I came back on Sunday and met with Juan T. Just as expected like Gus, Juan enthusiastically helped me with another test drive, explained more on history of the car, and then further helped me to discuss with Finance for the best possible numbers on my deal. After having all my questions & concerns cleared, and all numbers are lined up, I thought over quickly and agreed to close the deal. All thanks to both Juan's and Gus' efforts and assistance. I should also credit Juan for reminding me of the VIP Bucks program, which I had accumulated some credits from my previous services at Sheehy. Then, Ralphael courterously applied the VIP Bucks credits which did make the deal a bit sweeter for me. Then, I waited for my turn to finalize the paperwork with Jason K. in Finance. To be completely honest, the wait was relatively long, a couple of hours at least, but it felt like forever, so folks, come prepared to avoid being "hangry," or to have some snacks handy. Nevertheless, I understood there might have been fewer staff on Sunday, and because there were a few customers ahead of me. If I've not mistaken, I was among the last customers being helped near closing on that day. My wait could also attest to the fact that they treat every customers fairly and give each of us the time and attention we deserve, not merely rushing through the next. Jason professionally explained each item before I signed. Then, when it came to "up-sell" for service plans - contrary to the fact that many of car buyers have been warned - Jason simply presented the options for my consideration. In addition, his fair assessment of my "new" used car and value-cost analysis did help making my decision much easier without any pressure. I added a lifetime maintenance plan for the car and continue (happily) being a VIP member in Sheehy's family. Last but not least, Juan completed my buying, or more accurately, trade-in visit with a clean car, a full tank of gas, and put-on my tag. Juan did continue staying close contact with me several times in the following days to ensure that I was taken good care of and did receive the 2nd key/remote, which was made by a third party. All in all, this is definitely one of the best car shopping experiences that I have had over my last 12 years. (I have "good" records of changing rides quite often!). I sincerely thank the team at Sheehy Ford Gaitherburg for making my trade-in experience as smooth & easy as it was. Especially, thanks to Gus and Juan who no doubt had greatly assisted me in making the decision much easier. I believe car market will change a lot in the next few years, so I won't know when I would be in need (or want) to change rides again. One thing I can be sure of is that Sheehy Gaithersburg will definitely be on the top list of my preferred dealers when the time comes. Again, I'd like to thank each and every members of the Sheehy team has made it easy for my great experience. You guys clearly live up to Sheehy's Easy slogan!
