Typical bait-and-switch false price. Like lots of dealers, they gave me a price on a new car that they coudl not actually do. Friendly people and the car is very nice but the EV tax credit was not processed correctly. They did not include all the fees in the calculation for the credit like the IRS website says it should. I pointed this out and they said I was correct but there was nothing they could do about it. I am pleased with the car but am disappointed by the lack of knowledge and flexibility with the EV credit. I recently used Sheehy VW Springfield’s online appraisal tool to get a quote for my vehicle. I decided to go to the dealership myself. After waiting for an entire hour—which is far too long for a simple appraisal—they came back with an offer that was over $3,200 less than what they had quoted me online that same day. When I asked about the drastic change, I was told, “The market can change quickly.” But how does the market change that dramatically in just a few hours? That explanation just didn’t add up. To make matters worse, their Accu-Trade report falsely claimed there was a scuff on my bumper, which was completely inaccurate. My vehicle is in near-perfect condition. I had also mentioned at the beginning that I was there for an appraisal and that I had already received multiple offers—including one from them. Still, they gave me a much lower offer in person. The entire experience felt like a bait and switch, and a complete waste of time. If you're looking for a dealership that values honesty and transparency, I would not recommend Sheehy VW Springfield. More
