My truck goes to Shottenkirk’s because they do a great job & are thorough. Truck has air bags in rear so lifting it wrong would ruin them. The service department stripped a lug nut during my tire rotation and when I requested they fix it before I left, I was told no, I needed a follow up appointment. I asked if it was safe to drive it this way rotation and when I requested they fix it before I left, I was told no, I needed a follow up appointment. I asked if it was safe to drive it this way and was told yes. I was told to come back “whenever I want” but there were no options for an immediate return. They let me drive away with a loose lug nut on the rear passenger tire. I did not feel safe driving it this way since I transport my grandson, so I contacted another GM dealership in the area and was able to get in the next morning. At this appointment, I learned that the stud attached to the stripped lug nut would also need replacing because the lug nut was essentially jammed in place. Shottenkirk tried to suggest that the lug nut was corroded which turned out to be untrue. Additionally My rear brake pads were almost bare. This was not mentioned when they rotated my tires the previous day. The stud and lug replacement Was $97. I feel I was discriminated against because I am a woman, and they lied to me about the damage they did, and it’s disappointing to think that they were comfortable sending me away in a vehicle with unresolved safety issues. I would like to be reimbursed for the extra expense of fixing the stud and lug nut, and since they missed my brake pads during my oil change and tire rotation, I would like to be refunded for that as well. If the dealership is unwilling to honor this request, I will escalate it to the manufacturer level. More
