I appreciate your feedback and wanted to take a minute to address your concern. Independent repair facilities will always be less expensive than the dealer for two reasons. The first is that we use original equipment Hyundai parts for our repairs. Aftermarket parts can be found at significantly lower costs but Hyundai insists on us using their parts so they can guarantee the quality. The next is dealership labor rates are higher due to our overhead being more than double that of an independent facility(yet our prices are not double). We have to purchase the latest technology in tools and diagnostic equipment in order to diagnose and properly repair every problem that comes to us. In situations where an independent facility cannot diagnose or does not have the proper equipment to fix a vehicle they simply refer the customer to the dealer. We do not have that luxury, we must be properly trained and equipped to handle everything that could ever go wrong with any Hyundai. Along with that comes the costs of constantly sending our technicians away to training and classes and then offering them a fair wage considering everything they need to be able to do. As the GM of the store I wanted to take the time to address this because I would never want anyone thinking we are taking advantage of them. We are constantly working to provide the lowest prices possible to our customers and currently have the lowest labor rate of all dealerships in Lakewood and Jamestown. I am in no way saying your repair shop is inferior to ours, just that their cost to do business is significantly lower. I very much appreciate your business and hope you understand why our quote was higher than that of your other garage. Negative reviews are taken very seriously as they hurt our ability to provide jobs for our hard working employees who I treat like family.
