Sloane Toyota Malvern - Service Center

First of all i would like to thanks Sloane Toyota to honor 5th (Final) complementary service though my car was over 25K miles. But i think Assistant service manger Dennis Hoffman did not like that at al honor 5th (Final) complementary service though my car was over 25K miles. But i think Assistant service manger Dennis Hoffman did not like that at all...!!!! I was there on Saturday 01/12/2013 to get my 2011 Rav 4 serviced. I was recommended to get "Air went cleaning service" done worth of 69$. I refused it and get it done next time. He seemed very unhappy that i refused, specially when i was getting free service even though i was over 25K miles. (He would have refused to not honor that at first place when i made service appointment. When i made service appointment at Sloane Toyota, i clearly mentioned that i have crossed 25K miles.) I asked him a favour to help me set up auto doors lock. I was trying to program door locks, so when you shift gear from park to drive or it goes beyond certain speed all 4 doors locks automatically. His initial suggestion was to contact sales representative. (Does it make sense to talk to sales when u have Service Assistant Manager????) I told him it should be very quick fix as most basic sedan cars has it. Later he offer to fix it by paying 55$/Hour to technician and program it. I think it is not that big of deal to program automatic car locks. If i have knew where to find it in car manual, i could have done it by myself without asking him. I personally feel he was not particularly happy with me since i was getting FREE SERVICE. I would more than happy if he would have said that he doesn't know how to fix it or he doesn't have enough knowledge. I wanted to bring that to your attention and get it resolved. I would never want to get any service done at Sloane Toyoya anymore since i do not think it will be handle by right person. I am not even sure if my free service was actually performed. (I did not get my car washed after service either.) I am still trying to find right contacts to escalate this issue since i do not appreciate bad customer service experience. He is also very patient and kind and provided the 'bottom line' kind of thought I desperately needed to be able to make my decision well. When I decided to explore a new car as an option he recommended Aaron Serious who patiently listened to my dilemma and presented solutions and financial options, reworking details until we had a deal that was so successful, I decided to go forward with a new purchase. When I returned the next day to pick up the new Yaris he was excellent in helping me familiarize myself with the car's features and patiently took as much time as I needed to answer all questions I had. I am very thankful to both gentlemen for their excellent help. Tara (whose last name I do not know) in the business office was wonderful as well and explained all the details and insurance options available so that I now feel I made the correct decisions and have peace of mind and a sense of security with the options I selected. We normally use another dealer, but used them for emergency. They replaced iginition cylinder in June because igiition key would not turn at a cost of high hundredes of dollars. Today problem was much worse and key would not turn over for an hour. We called for tow truck, but were eventually able to turn ignition and instead drove to dealer. When at dealer, they claimed could not do anything because ignition was working for them. Service personnel were condescending to my wife with rolling of eyes when problem was described to them. Were basically told that would not do anything until car was undriveable. That is not acceptable because we never know when car will start. Even if that happened and called tow truck, we were told that if they could start the ignition at the dealer, then they would not do anything because it was working at the dealer. When we called our regular dealer, he said that at a minimum they should have taken for test drive which they refused to do. We have had a Toyota consistently for over 15 years. Would now think twice about a Toyota and would tell people to aovid that dealer. Have read a number of very unvaorable reviews of this dealer on Google which almost replicate our experience with this dealer. More
