Smith Family Motors came to my attention the fall of 2011. I drive a Lexus and my son drives a Lexus so I wanted to see their selection since I heard it was the largest Used Lexus selection in Utah (whi More

I feel obligated to counter some of the negative reviews towards this dealership. First of all, this is a different type of business model for used cars than you normally see from the big name dealers. I HA More

I had a bad experience with this dealership. Prices are good. Came close to buying a 3 1/2 year old Lexus ES350. They didn't bother to tell me that it had been in a serious rear end collision-strong enough More

What to do when we know a car has had some work done to it? Are we morally obligated to proactively point it out to prospective buyers? Legally we are not, but morally? This is a question we struggle with, and then walk a fine line so we can still sleep at night. We provide a free link in our ads and on our website to the Carfax history report. When asked, we defer to this, with the disclaimer that Carfax does not catch all. A careful inspection by a professional is encouraged. If asked, we willingly go out and jointly inspect the vehicle and honestly point out anything we see and everything we know about. If we know work has been done we inspect it to make sure it was done properly. If it has been professionally repaired then in our view that car is good to sell. If the work was not done correctly, we have it redone or wholesale the vehicle. We do not sell cars with problems but neither is a previous accident repaired properly the kiss of death. Now back to this review. This person was ready to buy the 1st ES350 knowing full well about the previous accident. He knew about it because it was in the Carfax report we gave him. He is disingenuous to imply that we hid it from him. His beef, and the reason for this review, is that we did not give him what he wanted. He "strongly insisted" we should discount the car more for the "accident on Carfax". Our firm reply was it was already priced with that taken into account. We suggested an alternative. A similar car with more options and a "clean Carfax report". We did not pro-actively tell him that one body panel had been repaired and two panels had been repainted. Information we knew, but were not asked about. If he had asked, we would have differed to the Carfax report and recommended a professional inspection. If requested, we would have inspected the car with him and pointed out the repair even though all the body panels were still original and the paint work was virtually unnoticeable. We did not feel it was necessary to disclose since it was repaired properly. Now a word about this person. This embellished review that attacks our character and is motivated by malice requires a more personal response. The whole exchange with this person was uncomfortable. He was very disrespectful and demanding. He was so difficult to work with that none of us wanted to talk to him. His wife even brought us a box of chocolates to apologize for his rude behavior. His review is retribution for not getting the discount he felt he deserved. He was ready to buy either vehicle if the price was to his satisfaction. This review is not about business practices it is about disagreeing on price.

Rustyn is the worst sales person I have ever dealt with. He has no idea what "customer service" is. This dealership won't be around for another 1 year because of that. More

"Customer Service" does not mean having to endure condescending and insulting language. We try to treat everyone, customer or not, with courtesy and respect, and expect the same in return. We try and resolve every concern but cannot concede to every demand. We listen and try to please everyone. We keep our commitments and try to go the extra mile. We don't always agree on terms but that is no excuse for bad behavior, on our part or yours.

Thank you Tim. It's usually just the ones that have had a negative experience that take the time to right a review. Thanks again.
