I Feel Like I Bought a Car from a Friend As a first time new car buyer I can only highly recommend Smithtown Nissan. I put off buying a new car because of all the negative cliches about the process. I am incredibly pleased to say that I experienced nothing like those commonly held thoughts. From the moment I spoke with and shook Ed O'Donahue's hand, I knew I would be treated with respect and care. After being greeted by Ed, Tom Oliva began the process. As with Ed, Tom put me at ease and gave a sense that he was more concerned with pleasing me, the customer, than in just selling another car. Tom took the time to learn a bit about me and about what I wanted. I never felt pushed or uncomfortable during the entire process. I drove my new 2015 Xterra off the lot that very same day. Avoiding the typical words, phrases, and descriptions we all read in these types of reviews, I will say that the sense of friendship, and even family, is an incredible quality the staff at this dealership has. Don Gleason and Tom, along with some other guys from Parts and Service, offered to help me clean out my old truck and help move my kayak from my old truck to my new truck. ( I just got back from a kayaking trip and did not think I was going to buy a car that day. I walked out of a different dealership because of the high pressure to buy and lack of concern. ) These guys continued and enhanced the feeling Ed and Tom conveyed. I feel as though I bought a car from a friend. I want to thank everyone I dealt with, from Ed and Tom, the guys in Parts and Service, to Will in finance. Not only did they help me purchase the exact truck I wanted at an excellent price, but they made me feel like a part of the Nissan family. More
