My wife and I went in to look at a Subaru Forester on two different occasions. In the first case, we were just doing some test drives to see if the forester would be a suitable vehicle to purchase in the fu different occasions. Despite my wife's misgivings and generally poor previous experiences with car dealerships, she was shocked at how pleasant the experience was. We both had a great time and Omar gave us a lot of useful information, was patient, and helped us figure some things out. We returned a second time to hopefully purchase a forester, and again asked for Omar. He was once again a stellar associate and even though we ultimately could not agree on a price, we will definitely visit Sommers and Omar again if the right vehicle comes along. Five stars. More

I walked in not really sure about what I wanted, looking to trade in an 01 Tribute with 96k miles and some left on the lean. He walked me through several options and politely allowed me to change my mind on him several times. He was very real, kind, and it seemed clear that there were no games being played. He just wanted to get me the car I wanted at a reasonable price. That's what Don did. I went in looking for a 2014 and ended up with a great deal on a 2012 Impreza - heated leather seats, lcd radio, blue tooth - all the bells and whistles that I swore to Don earlier that I could care less about - and now cannot see being without. All because Don listened and gradually guided me to exactly what I wanted. Go meet him yourself, he is instantly likable, friendly, and easy going. I can honestly say the whole process was positive and even enjoyable and ultimately I am very happy with both the car and the service I received. I have never been in an auto dealership and not left feeling that something just happened that I will regret in some way later, until now. This is my first Subaru and I have to say have never owned a car of this quality before - I definitely recommend Don and the whole Sumner staff if you want a quality experience. More
We found this vehicle listed on the Cars.com website. It was exactly what we were looking for ...price and appointments. We would have bought the car regardless of who the sales person was. Don is a true Professional and I can see how he is a very valuable asset to Sommer's. The paperwork was smooth and faultless. One other note. My wife's father was a American Motors worker. He bought his Buick's at Sommer's back in the 50's. When my old 2002 Suburban is done for "I'll be back"ood job. Were happy. Don Ciardo worked really hard to find the specific car I was looking for. And because that changed during the looking process, he had to work extra hard to stay in touch and let me know when he'd found som was looking for. I drove my last Subary Legacy station wagon for 16 years and was very happy with it. It would be a tough act to follow. I met with Joe Vella a few weeks back with the intention of test driving a Subaru Crosstrek after doing much research on the vehicle (Thank you Melissa Bemis for answering all my questions). I was anxious about the whole car buying experience in addition to trading in from a Mini Cooper to a larger vehicle. Joe immediately made me feel welcome and lessened any anxiety I had. In addition, his sense of humor immediately made me feel comfortable. After test driving the Crosstrek, I pretty much made up my mind to go for it. Unfortunately, the options and color (Tangelo) I wanted were not available at the dealership, but Joe assured me he would find it, and find it he did! Joe really worked with me on the trade-in, purchase price etc. I left feeling very satisfied and excited. Took a little over a week, but Joe got me exactly the Crosstrek I was looking for. I've had it for a few days and am loving it!!! From the time I first shook hands with Joe to driving my new Crosstrek off the floor was an overall great experience. I cannot recommend Sommer's and Joe highly enough. Jeanne W. More

My wife and I finally got to the point where the value of our trade-in was roughly what we owed, so we decided to shop for an upgrade before crossing 100k miles. Sommer's Subaru was one of our very first stops, and we instantly liked the establishment. Clean, friendly, and kid-friendly (a playroom with a TV and kids movies). Josh took over from an internet representative who was off work when we came in. Immediately, Josh put us at ease, offering coffee and fresh-made cookies. We were initially interested in a new Forester, and he let us test-drive one of the few remaining on the lot. He was very informative during the test drive, without ever seeming pushy. (I liked that he prefaced many of his comments with "If I earn your business.") He never attempted to push us in a direction we weren't comfortable with, and never tried to sell us on options we didn't care about. In fact, he asked us what options mattered to us, and guided us toward the appropriate model, even though it cost less. When it became apparent that the new car would cost more than we wanted to spend, he guided us to a (very gently) used Certified Pre-Owned Outback. We had a lot of questions, and he answered them all clearly and patiently, even when I got picky about details I didn't understand. At no point did we feel pressured or uncomfortable during the experience, and he worked hard to meet every request we made. When he handed us over to the financing department, we were informed that our interest rate came in a little higher than they suggested it might, but they were clear on the reasoning, and they managed to keep the final payment within the range they initially offered. In fact, they worked hard at all points to keep the process transparent. A pleasant change from most dealerships, to be sure. I have zero complaints about Josh as a sales representative, or about Sommer's as a dealership. This place is easily the best car dealership I've worked with, and "if they earn your business," you won't regret it. More
This was probably the best car buying experience I have ever had. Adam and John were wiling to hang around the dealership as I made the 5 1/2 hour drive from minneapolis to come pick up my sti.
