My wife and I made a huge mistake visiting the used South Austin Nissan car lot to look at a 2018 Toyota Tacoma. I took the time to get pre approved online . The truck was advertised as 42,900 online . As we Austin Nissan car lot to look at a 2018 Toyota Tacoma. I took the time to get pre approved online . The truck was advertised as 42,900 online . As we were negotiating I was told there was another $3799.00 added for a “protection plan” . I declined to buy the vehicle and left. Not even a block down the road I received a call from the manager telling me “I don’t mean to talk down to you but do you even know what kind of suspension the truck has?” At wich point I told him if you have to start a conversation with” I don’t mean to talk down to you” your already in the wrong. Basically they tried to justify false advertising the truck at 42,900 to lure customers in so they can tag on $3800 more for a bs protection plan and “upgraded suspension. I told them I was headed to Leander toyota to buy another Tacoma yes pro and was told by the manager at south Austin nissan that Leander toyota would be more expensive. Not only were they wrong but I got the trd pro Taco I wanted with 7 year roadside assistance and a year powertain protection for no added value as it was a certified pre owned vehicle . Long story short….these people do shady business practices and I will never use them but most importantly I will never recommend them to anyone I know including my worst enemies. Terrible place to consider buying a car from. More
Terrible Business! The service department barley responded to multiple voicemails and messages left for Cody. After 11 days of them trying to fix a day job of damage, they failed to match color the opal white. I went out 3 different times and told them to do it again and the paint color was obviously not a match. I offered them to paid the entire car the same color or pay me for it over the appraisal value I had already been quoted. They bought the car on April 19th. We have YET TO RECEIVE our equity check from the dealership. Kevin, the sales manager, refused to return voicemails, return calls, respond with any updates or provide any level of customer service. We have called numerous times and went back up to the dealership with the paperwork from the lienholder supporting the title had already been released to Nissan and still no follow up. They have over $7500 of our money and have refused to release it. We call daily and leave message with no response. We have spoken to other managers who have refused to step in and assist. I have even left about 6 messages for the GM Armando with no return call. The entire dealership is miss-managed. We own a 2021 Nissan Altima and are trying to sell it as fast as possible so we never have to deal with this dealership again. The worst service I have ever received, from hitting our car while leaving, the poor service handling of the repair, to trying to get our equity check. More
The first time I went in to look for a car, it was end of 2020. I was out on the market, trying to figure out what I needed so I went in to look at a couple of SUVs and sedans as it was an extra vehicle I am 2020. I was out on the market, trying to figure out what I needed so I went in to look at a couple of SUVs and sedans as it was an extra vehicle I am planning to purchase (the first one was bought with my dad). I must say that I’m not the type that knows my car, so I went in and asked the salesperson for recommendations. The reply I got was “You should have done your own research beforehand and not come in right now to waste my time. You should know what you want to see.” I felt so put down that I left without looking at their cars and decided to bring my business elsewhere. Now, in 2022, I’m looking to trade-in my first car and get another car again, so I went in this time, armed with what type of vehicle I wanted to see (because I learnt my lesson) and told them straight. I had them appraise my trade-in vehicle so that I could get a final price on the new vehicle that I wanted to get. The new salesperson started off great, I told him what I needed and said that I wanted my car appraised, he took my keys for appraisal and went to bring around a vehicle for me to take a look. An hour later, he informed me that the cars I wanted to see are not available and pulled up a used one. I didn’t mind at all as I wanted to see the space in the car, comparing the vehicle to my other options before I test drive the ones I really liked. At this point in time, I didn’t give them my ID because I wasn’t going to test drive their car. We went back to the sales person’s office and he asked me what we could do from here on to close the deal. I said that since I didn’t see both options that I mentioned, I can’t make a decision yet, and enquired about the trade-in appraisal. The sales person told me that it was done (but didn’t hand me my keys back) and told me that he’ll go get his manager to get the numbers. The manager came in and tried to push the sales again, and when I asked about the appraisal, he turned to the sales person and said “Did you bring her car in for the appraisal yet?” I was told that the manager had the number and he obviously don’t have a clue! I also told the manager that since I haven’t seen one of the car I’m exploring, I can’t make a decision. He pulled up Google images and showed me a couple of pictures saying that it was the best they could do right now. If I wanted pictures, I could have searched it myself. I realise that they were really pushing me to put a $1000 downpayment on a car that I ‘wanted’ but haven’t seen. So, I told them I needed the appraisal numbers and the OTD price with TTL to make my decision. They both left the room and the sales person came back again a couple of minutes later saying that he needed my ID to run the numbers. I have my ID in the car, but I felt unsafe providing it to them, so I said that I didn’t have it, but I could provide them with my license number. In the end, he took down my address and left the room again. Next, the manager came back in and told me that without my ID, they cannot verify that the car is mine, so they can’t give me the appraised numbers. When I asked about the price of the car itself, they weren’t able to give me an estimate too. By then, they finally brought my car key back, and I took it and just left. I was there for about 2 hours and since they didn’t want to give me a number for me to make a decision, I don’t want to waste anymore time going back and forth with them any longer since they’re obviously not trying to build a positive relationship, but is just trying to force you to make a deal on the spot. My question would be, if I was able to get an appraisal number from carmax and chevrolet without showing them my ID, why does nissan need my ID before giving me the numbers? Also, my ID would not say that I’m the owner of the car, that would be the car title, so why did they need my ID? Overall, the longer I was there, the less safe I felt and after the two encounters I have with them, I don’t think I’ll be heading back to South Austin Nissan again. P.S. They told me that Branden Boutte is the sales manager, but on their website, he’s only a sales consultant. More
Terrible dealer, would give zero stars if possible. Purchased a new Kicks at South Austin Nissan (SAN) that had a catastrophic failure after about 3 weeks. First they accused my daughter of putti Purchased a new Kicks at South Austin Nissan (SAN) that had a catastrophic failure after about 3 weeks. First they accused my daughter of putting bad gas in the vehicle, then they didn't know what caused the issue, and then it was the wiring harness. I believe they tried to take advantage of the fact that my daughter was a young female. Fortunately she has been involved in car repairs in the past and saw right through their attempts to place blame on her. Weeks passed and we didn't have a resolution. SAN offered a rental but said that they didn't know if Nissan would pay for the rental. Without knowing if we would have to pay for a rental, SAN offered for us to purchase another Kicks and trade in the non-working Kicks. They didn't have another vehicle of the same model year in stock so we had to go with the same model that was one model year newer. Sales Manager wanted to charge us $3500 more to replace a vehicle that we just purchased 3 weeks earlier. Because we needed a vehicle we settled on a price difference and purchased a second Kicks. Then we couldn't get the tags or copies of the paperwork for either vehicle. Finance folks at SAN kept telling us that we would get the paperwork and a check for the payments already made on the first Kicks. Neither the paperwork or check ever arrived. To get the tags we had to file a complaint with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Filed a complaint with Nissan Corporate Consumer Affairs and they referred us back to SAN. So Nissan Corp doesn't even support their customers. Between SAN and Nissan Corporate, we wasted so much time with this issue only to have it dismissed by both SAN and Nissan. DO NOT buy from SAN and do not buy a Nissan. More
Reason for visit: To purchase the end term of lease Reason for complaint: Had to go into the dealership 4 times to get moving on buying this car with cash. They did not know what to do with a c lease Reason for complaint: Had to go into the dealership 4 times to get moving on buying this car with cash. They did not know what to do with a customer that fulfilled obligations for a lease, since covid the customer has equity in vehicles and makes them upside down in deals. I was wanting to explore options (new lease, purchase etc) The payoff amount was 9975 plus TTL (normal stuff) + the 300 purchase option stated in the contract. So I waited in a little cubicle alone for a good half an hour because Salesperson didnt know what to do, and I had an appt with him explaining my decision beforehand. Finally manager comes in to discuss my options, always asking which vehicle i am interested in. They were not listening at all....frustrating. They wanted to add another 2000 on top to pay their misc fees. I asked to speak with the manager (Jason) to explain this. He says well I have to pay the mechanics, salespeople and my overhead. After I asked why in a rather loud voice he says I need to leave the dealership. Which I did, to never return ever again. Avoid this loser dealership at all costs, Salespeople: Amanda Davilla, John Campbell Managers: (or thats what they call themselves) Jason Mozisek Frank Trovinger A few more misguided fools in their scheduling department that keep calling asking me about my next vehicle purchase. This place is absolutely awful. During Covid, they didn't wear masks, the managers are super sexist and only speak to men, you aren't allowed to keep your offer letters OR take a photo of it, EXTREMELY pushy wear masks, the managers are super sexist and only speak to men, you aren't allowed to keep your offer letters OR take a photo of it, EXTREMELY pushy, just dirty sales. Spoke with manager, Dana who was just as bad. She wasn't phased by my experience. I shared it with corporate because I was treated so terribly here. I would rather walk than give them a dime for a car. More

I bought a car for my son 3 months ago. Although I purchased as is, the engine is blown and will cost me $9000.00 to fix. I understand high milage cars are not meant to last years but they should not purchased as is, the engine is blown and will cost me $9000.00 to fix. I understand high milage cars are not meant to last years but they should not only last 3 months and then die. I called this dealership to discuss it and was not even allowed to speak about it. The manager just hung up on me and gave me the middle finger. I will never purchase a car from this dealership again and will certainly not ever buy a Nissan. Thank you Nissan for lack of customer support. Sad thing for them is I was actually going to try to talk to him about purchasing another car and if they could help me work a deal for the one they sold me that only lasted 3 months. By the way, I still have not received my license plates and the engine is blown. More
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!I don't think I've ever had such a AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I don't think I've ever had such a terrible experience at any place of business before. This place threatened to use my per AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I don't think I've ever had such a terrible experience at any place of business before. This place threatened to use my personal information without my consent, tried to change my loan terms after having signed and agreed to a legally binding contract (even having had my own financing from the get-go), threatened me and my partner and verbally abused us, and scammed me into buying a non working vehicle. I had to file a complaint against them with the OCCC. Now I'm paying a $1200 bill to fix the issues with the vehicle just to able to drive it. I haven't had reliable transportation to work for weeks, and I am still paying hundreds in repairs. As a full time student, with a full time work schedule this has been so stressful financially and mentally. When we tried to seek a solution with the manager, he belittled me and my partner - asking us if we were stupid and if we even knew what the days of the week were. When speaking with the financial agent, I explained that I had my own financing and that I only agreed to those terms - he threatened to use my social security number to aquire other financing that I did not consent to more than a week after the sale of the vehicle. When I explained to him that I came in with my own financing and clearly only agreed to use my own financing - he said it didn't matter and said that they didn't need my permission to use my social for loans AND SMIRKED AT ME WHILE SAYING THIS. Working with this place was stressful, financially draining, exhausting, and made me feel insignificant as xxxx. Its sad that my wellness, financial stability, and sanity was only worth few thousand dollars to this company. I don't understand how this place is still in business. TLDR: This places uses intimidation, threatened me, and left me financially xxxxed. Don't come here if you want a working car and to be treated like a human being. More
