I purchased a Toyota Highlander through the internet sales department and worked with a salesman named Anh Vu. The sales process itself went fairly smoothly at first. One of my initial and very clear questions was whether the vehicle came equipped with a tow hitch, and I was explicitly told that it did. Based on that assurance, I drove from Corona to the dealership to complete the purchase. While the vehicle was being processed, I inspected it and immediately noticed that no tow hitch was installed. When I questioned this, I was told that the vehicle had just been delivered and that the tow hitch simply had not been installed yet. I was assured not to worry and was told I could bring the vehicle back for installation. The salesman also sent me a text message confirming this, which I still have. Over the following several months, I attempted to follow up multiple times via calls and text messages. I spoke with the salesman 3–4 times, and each time I was told my call would be returned. It never was. Eventually, I contacted the service department directly. I was told to bring the vehicle in for the installation, so I drove 45 miles back to the dealership. Once there, I was informed that they had no record of any agreement for a tow hitch. I showed them the text message, and I was then told that I would have to pay out of pocket, and that the hitch and installation would be an additional cost. I am convinced that the vehicle details were misrepresented to secure the sale. I would not have purchased this vehicle without a tow hitch. The lack of accountability and follow-through is extremely disappointing. I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone. More

UNETHICAL - Just went in today with the October coupon mailer that I received for a full synthetic oil service and a multi-point inspection. The coupon price was $58.88. When the service advisor was ringing me up he said the amount was $78.88. When I asked why the difference, he asked, "Didn't I read the fine print?" It says in fine print at the bottom, Supras, and 0W-16, 0W-20 oil was an additional $20. I said that I would just go elsewhere and then he got his manager who also challenged me and I said I would go elsewhere. After telling him where and the price, he finally gave the okay for the original coupon price. Where the UNETHICAL part is for me is that, EVERY single current Toyota vehicle, my Corolla, and the Camry, Avalon, RAV4, Highlander, Sequoia, Tacoma, Tundra... THEY ALL use either 0W-16 or 0W-20 full synthetic. So there FULL SYNTHETIC COUPON service that they send to their entire Toyota mailing list doesn't apply to a single car they sell! More
