Absolutely disgusting experience at an official Toyota dealership today. I brought my vehicle in for a simple transmission fluid service, and they refused to do the job ONLY because the car has over 150,0 dealership today. So apparently Toyota promotes their vehicles as “long-lasting” and “reliable,” but once your car passes a certain mileage, their own dealerships suddenly don’t want to touch it anymore. What kind of support is that? It sounds like Toyota only stands behind their cars until 150k miles, then leaves customers on their own. Instead of inspecting the transmission or giving real professional advice, they immediately refused service to protect themselves from liability. That tells me even THEY don’t trust the long-term durability of their own products enough to service them properly. This was one of the most unprofessional dealership experiences I’ve had. Imagine being a loyal customer trying to MAINTAIN your vehicle correctly, only to be turned away by the manufacturer’s own service department. People buy Toyota because they believe these cars are built to last. But after today, I seriously question whether Toyota’s “reliability” reputation is just marketing. If this is how customers are treated once their cars get older, future buyers should think twice before spending their money on Toyota???? More
Bought car there and paid cash. It's been 11 weeks since purchase and still waiting for Title. Called DMV; they said it's been pending since 2 weeks after purchase - because the dealership hasn't completed what they need to finish. DMV says dealership legally has 90 days to complete paperwork needed, but pending for 7 weeks means Incompetence or lazy by whomever at dealership that can't finish their work. Called dealership and have no return call. More
Have you ever had anyone take a chance on you when no one else would? Well this is what I encountered when I entered the doors of South Coast Toyota. What a wonderful wonderful unit of people. But the one person that stood out and that went above and beyond his Call of Duty was Joe warmly referred to as Big Joe. He is such a wonderful person and such a gracious individual. He would not stop until the last signature was signed and the key was put in my hand for my beautiful 2026 Toyota Corolla crossover I just love my truck and I just love Joe and I love South Coast Toyota. If you guys need a chance. Or another chance in life as far as credit and as far as being trusted to make your payments and getting a reliable beautiful car that you're proud of this is the place. Be sure to ask for Big Joe. More
I had a very disappointing experience with Toyota South Coast in Costa Mesa. I worked with a salesperson (An Vu) over several days regarding a 2026 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium AWD in black. I received detailed information, including a VIN, pricing, delivery timeline, and even a pre-contract. I provided my documents, discussed financing, and was told directly that “we’re going to make the deal.” Based on this, I drove from Carlsbad to the dealership expecting to complete the purchase. When I arrived, I was told that the only vehicle available was RED — not the black vehicle that had been consistently discussed and confirmed in writing. I escalated the issue with management on-site, explained that I had clear documentation, and even showed the messages. Despite this, I was told that their team claimed I had been informed about the color change, which is simply not true. This experience reflects a serious lack of communication, accountability, and respect for the customer’s time. It also raises concerns about how their sales process is handled internally, as significant steps were completed (documents, credit, deal structure) without alignment to the actual vehicle. What makes it worse is that this would have been my second purchase from this dealership. Very frustrating experience and a complete waste of time. More

After scheduling my RAV4 for a specific recall repair and taking the car in, I was told the parts would not be available for at least a week. Zero stars for that waste of time, but 5 stars for when I took it taking the car in, I was told the parts would not be available for at least a week. Zero stars for that waste of time, but 5 stars for when I took it in after being assured that the recall parts were on hand, and for an oil change and tire rotation. All personnel were courteous and helpful, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. My only advice is to get assurance of parts availability before taking your car in pursuant to a recall notice. I purchased this vehicle new from this dealership, and have had all service done here, and with the exception of the occasional hiccup, have been satisfied and will definitely return for service or to buy another Toyota. More
