A few good men....And a shyster. If you read the title read this review and you will be able to tell who's who. I had been looking for a Kia Telluride with certain specifications and If you read the title read this review and you will be able to tell who's who. I had been looking for a Kia Telluride with certain specifications and I found that Sunshine Kia had it however this dealership is approximately a one hour drive away from my house. Rather than driving down there without knowing more or less what the price for the vehicle would be I called down and asked to have someone contact me with an out-the-door price for the vehicle. Initially no one got back to me but then manager Chris Hernandez contacted me and asked me specifically where I needed the numbers to be. I explained to mr. Hernandez what I was looking for and he was able to give me a quote which was to my liking after I provided him with my exact credit scores. The next morning I drove down to the dealership however Mr Hernandez could not be there because I was told his wife had been induced for labor. Mr. Hernandez had told me to speak with Ali Peterson upon my arrival. I met mr. Peterson who was exceptionally professional and knowledgeable about the vehicle that I was interested in. Mr. Peterson took us on a test drive and thoroughly explained all the features that the vehicle had. Once that was completed mr. Peterson explained that we had to talk to the manager so that he could provide us with the numbers. It was mr. Peterson's understanding as well as mine that I would be provided with the same numbers that Chris quoted on the phone. Since Chris wasn't there I had to speak to a manager named Tomas. Tomas seemed nice and was courteous and respectful however when he came back with the initial numbers after running my credit his numbers were a substantial amount above what I was quoted. This created a problem as I had already driven an hour and I thought that I had an agreement with the dealership. I explained to Tomas what I was quoted by Chris and I also explained to him that I had financing through my credit union if he was unable to meet those numbers. After another 30 minutes Tomas came back and the numbers were still higher then what I had agreed upon. At this point my wife and I we're highly upset and we were ready to leave. Tomas old me to give him another 15 minutes to check with another finance company to see if the numbers could be met. At this point I gave Tomas a deadline and explained to him that I did not drive an hour so that I would have to negotiate a different deal than what I had already negotiated on the phone. 2 minutes prior to the deadline coming up which was already one hour longer than I wanted to be there Tomas called me into the finance persons office. The finance Associates name was George Okoth. I sat down with George who presented me with the final numbers. Initially George's numbers were $2 higher than what I had been quoted. This may seem like a trivial amount however I drove an hour to get down there for a specific quote and I had been made to wait another hour by Tomas so one penny over the initial quote would have been too much at this point. I asked George to give me a buyer's order at that point so that I can present it to my credit union to purchas the vehicle at a later date. Honestly if you would have given me a buyer's order at that point I wasn't going to buy the vehicle there. George asked me exactly what I was looking for and I explained the whole situation to him. After knowing and understanding the situation George was able to adjust the numbers so that I ended up being $2 below what I was quoted. At that point my patience was already gone and I thought about leaving even though they finally got to the numbers that I was quoted. However due to the fact that mr. Ali Peterson did such a good job of showing me the vehicle and was absolutely pleasant and helpful coupled with the fact that George was just such a nice individual who was patient enough to listen to how upset I was I chose to stay and make the purchase. At the end of the day I don't feel that I got a deal which was advantageous to me but I also don't feel that the dealership got it advantageous deal although I could be wrong. What I mean is I feel like the deal was fair for both sides and that's all I wanted to begin with. I understand that everyone has a job to do and I understand that the manager's job is to get as much money for the dealership as possible but when I'm quoted something I expected to be honoured as soon as I get there without all the back and forth which is what kept me from giving this a five star review. They also need a new building because the one they're in his kind of run-down and it doesn't reflect the Few Good Men that I dealt with. As far as the shyster I got nothing against him he was doing his job and he was a nice enough guy but dealing with him almost cost the business a sale. One last thing I wanted to mention I was putting my child's car seat in the vehicle before leaving I was concerned that it would scratch the leather because I didn't have car seat covers with me. Mr. Ali Peterson took it upon himself to provide me with some items from his vehicle so that my vehicle wouldn't get damaged. The sale for the car had already been made and he had no need to do this. This is the kind of individual that makes a business look great by going above and beyond. If mr. Peterson is a car salesman when I go to purchase my next vehicle I will be purchasing it from him wherever he is. More
