Fradulent service practice. $2,200.00 was the estimate I received from this service department to repair my 2014 FRS. Shocked, I told the technician I disagreed with his diagnos $2,200.00 was the estimate I received from this service department to repair my 2014 FRS. Shocked, I told the technician I disagreed with his diagnostic and would take it to another dealer. The technician said that he would have to write a 'story' of what he saw on my car's record and every dealer would see it . Write he did, he wrote "premature failure of clutch due to driving habit". There was absolutely nothing wrong with my clutch, the problem turned out to be a defective throwout bearing, which is a common problem with this car. This technician also claimed that I had a scratched flywheel . Completely false, the flywheel was pristine. I ended up doing the repairs myself for about $400. in parts. Not only did this dealer try to bilk me, they spitefully blemished the record of my car. The service manager took the technician side even though I showed him the failed bearing and perfect clutch. These are highly unethical folks , bad for the public and for the Toyota\Scion franchise. I should also mention that I take very good care of my car and this blemish on my record really bothers me. More
