I agreed to the diagnostic which was successfully performed, revealing a faulty cam sensor. This part should’ve been less than $100 with less than one hour of labor. It is literally held in with one performed, revealing a faulty cam sensor. This part should’ve been less than $100 with less than one hour of labor. It is literally held in with one 10mm bolt and a plug-in. My initial bill was over $900. I complained about the labor and challenged the price. The labor was reduced by $300. After waiting five hours in the lobby, I again asked what the holdup was. It was at this point. I was advised that the part was not in stock and that their driver was in Richmond. The Service tech offered me a LYFT, which I accepted., And which later returned me to the dealership. The tech then graciously reduced my bill by another 10%, which I believe was still excessively high at close to $600. A repair that should’ve taken 15 minutes after the diagnostic kept me grounded for over six and a half hours with a bill that was twice as much as it should’ve been, Even with the discount. If I had not challenged at all, I would’ve paid another 40%. This is tantamount to fraud. More
