I was in the market for a new 2021 Subaru Outback Limited and after checking out these vehicles on the Internet, numerous Dealerships got the hit and many emailed me. I specified exactly what I wanted and as and after checking out these vehicles on the Internet, numerous Dealerships got the hit and many emailed me. I specified exactly what I wanted and asked them to email me all of the photos of this car, along with their initial offer. There must have been 3 or 4 different people emailing me from this same location! What a poorly run Dealership! What goes on there, a race to see who is first? I then drilled in one agent and oh my God, what a real loser! I asked him to send me the photos of the car and he gave me this lame excuse that no photos were available yet! Like how difficult is it to upload photos? Is that not part of their job? Ah, preparedness must not be their specialty! Shouldn't this not be mandatory prior to any new listing? How could photos not be available? Image how incompetent this dealership must really be? I then logged in and requested a 'Build Request' specifying exactly the Limited Model being the only vehicle that I wanted! They then got all upset about this email and told me that since I was apparently not very satisfied, that they no longer wanted to even work with me! So a Dealership refuses to work with you, just because you asked for photos and a Build Request? I never even had the chance to speak directly with them! All correspondences were only via email! They had a ready and very well qualified buyer who would be purchasing this car in 2 days on Monday 11/23 and he tells me to go work with another Dealership! This, I will gladly do and I really appreciated him for telling me to go somewhere else, because I could not have even imagined working with them for several hours at Southern States just wasting my time! All you buyers out there, please be aware! More
Donnie Jackson made the purchase of my 2021 Outback easy and painless! Out the door price was much less than the Subaru dealer in Durham and the no pressure sales approach was greatly appreciated. I would like to commend Taylor Bayait.for the personal and professional manner in which he interacted with my wife and I. At delivery, he again took the time to go over the many features of the ascent. The document processing went smoothly and every issue was explained to insure we understood the process. Purchased a 2020 Ascent in early Dec. 2019. I feel adopted and like part of the family at my local dealer, but orphaned at Southern States. Will never use them again. They told me I had all docs nee adopted and like part of the family at my local dealer, but orphaned at Southern States. Will never use them again. They told me I had all docs needed to title & register in my State, but after 4 hrs at my DMV was missing the MCO. Was told my car would be available on arrival (ordered earlier) but had to wait 2 hrs for a car wash. Was told I could have an accessory part at a discout, but never got the part. They took 8 days to issue a credit for an over payment necessitated by their lack of communication. Their lack of integrity and dishonesty is the reason I can not reccomend their sales department. I was also promised one free oil change, but got no indication that would happen after the sale. Be careful and get it in writing, and signed. My MCO and credit arrived exactly one day after I got Corporate Subaru involved. More

Sold a pre-owned car that they did not have the title for! I purchased a pre-owned Subaru Impreza for my daughter back in May of this year and have learned that they still dont have the title for this car! We cannot get her a registration and tags for the car until the title is obtained so she will not be able to take the car with her when she goes back to college next week. Oh and the fact that we paid for a car that we technically do not own at this point....well there that! My husband has made repeated calls to the general manager since June and he has never bothered to return them or try to resolve the issue in any way. We have had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as our state attorney general. Buyer beware............... More

A month after owning it a CEL came on and the cruise control was disabled. Turns out it just needed an update in the computer for a known bug with that year WRX. When attempting to patch and update the software, they realized the car had been tuned and chipped, and were unable to install the update because the previous owner had unmarried the tuning port with the stock computer....ergo I needed a new computer. They cleared the light to the best of their ability, bought a new computer without hassling me. My tech Matt Wright saw the condition my mixmatched tires were in and was so dissatisfied with their condition, he and my service advisor Mario requested that management give me all new tires because it looked bad that the company sold a car like that. Management gave me 4 new tires, alignment, oil change, and ordered a new computer all free of charge to keep me happy with my first Subaru. I've been in the car business, and Southern States Subaru cares about your experience with your Subaru and the quality of their work more than anyone.
