They were honest and made my visit to lease a car a pleasant one. Everything was explained to me in detail. They accommodated me to my affordability in the leasing of a vehicle of my choice. There should be more people in this world like the both of them. I am elderly and was not taken advantage of. Instead, I was treated like family and was able to walk out of the dealership leasing a Subaru Forester with a great deal. Star Subaru did a wonderful job of keeping me posted since the sale was made just prior to the COVID Lockdown, and the delivery didn’t take place for a full 4 months after the initial purchase. I had a great experience here- Jimmy and Michael and Mackenzie were all super helpful and I went home with a great deal on a great car. Would not refund temporary deposit over the phone...cont. I am including the entire text of my previous review of the dealership to highlight the fact that it was Phil Musmacker who made the ultimate decision I am including the entire text of my previous review of the dealership to highlight the fact that it was Phil Musmacker who made the ultimate decision, even after I gave them 3 attempts to do the right thing. To top it all off, my original review was replied to with a suggestion to call Phil to resolve the issue, AFTER i had already tried to resolve this via phone within the last couple weeks THREE times with Steve, Andy and Phil (who never wanted to speak with me). Clearly, the folks at this dealership don't communicate with each other very well. -------------------------------- I went to look at a car on 6/26/20, at this dealership. Steve Sze, who was my salesperson, was very nice, and I test drove a Subaru Crosstrek. Please keep in mind that living in NYC, I do not own a car, and this dealership is over an hour away by 2 busses. With Covid still in effect in NYC, subways were not an option for me. While I wasn't ready to buy, he convinced me to check out what financing might be and explained that I would need to put a deposit down, which would be refundable. I did so for $1000, of which I have documentation. After saying the next day that I would not be buying a car, or leasing, I asked for a refund over the phone. I was told that it was company policy that a person needed to come back into the office to bring back the original receipt IN PERSON. I explained that this was not possible for me due to the length of time that it takes, and the ease of refunding online in our day and age. I gave them more than a week, with multiple nice phone calls, with both Steve, and Andy, his sales manager. I was told no, not once, but three times. Now, I am nowhere near the dealership, having travelled to Pennsylvania for an extended period of time. They still will not refund without being there in person, leaving me to have to dispute the claim on my credit card, which will take up to 90 days to occur. Never once was a told about this company policy, nor does any of the documentation on my receipt have it stated anywhere. It is also not stated anywhere in the dealership itself. Had I known about this, I would not have given them this "temporary deposit." This dealership has a few good apples in its midst, but ultimately, the ownership and management are deceptive crooks. There was absolutely NO disclosure about this policy. If I should still contact Phil, one more time, I will. But only if it will be for an over the phone refund, since I am currently not in NY State.
